For just one game could Diskerud go back to being CAM and Bradley to being CM? Please? You know- the rational decision.

so you see mix eventually replacing dempsey (and switching from 2 up top to 1?)?

the idea that mix is a bonafide international caliber CM is also laughable at this point - at least until he proves his worth in MLS.

mix has started all 6 games since WC with US going 1-2-3, with US generally being over-run in the center of the park - hopefully this experiment ends after panama game

if/when mix shines in MLS great, until then its garbage to treat him as if he has earned a lock on a spot in starting 11

Mix is much better as a sub in my opinion anyways... He may not lock down the center of the park (not as reliable/strong there) but he knows how to be in the right place and you can't teach that. Wondo syndrome but he has done it at the international level. He pops up for goals and assists in almost all of his games, very dangerous in the box.

He should definitely be on the roster but not starting in my opinion. Hasn't earned it really and needs to become physically dominant.

the "mix is a starter" experiment. any position

i dont really care too much about camp cupcake but after panama it will be 7 starts in 7 games since WC for mix

id like to see how he does with NYC for at least 3 months before considering him for a starting role

That's cool. I'm not saying he's God's gift.
Has he started anywhere other than DM, though?

Seeing as how Jurgen has gotten Shea to play LB after getting Beasley to play LB for their clubs, he will recommend the same with NYCFC and mix at cm. It only makes sense as lampard should play ahead of mix in the center anyway. Give him some time to play and room to breath, that I agree with. But it takes guys awhile when they switch positions.

I agree with Rain, i dont Mix is all that.. Even a starter if the US were to field a full squad. I also think that within a few years, he will probably lose his spot on the pecking order.

DM implies a certain aptitude to defend and break up plays - and mix does not qualilfy for that designation

id say he has been playing a CM role, sometimes from a slightly deeper position than other times

andrea pirlo plays from a pretty deep position... nobody mistakes him for a DM

Mix has gotten much better on the defensive side, but I still want to see him moved more FWD as a CAM. He just has so much composure in tight spaces in and around the 18.

Dempsey mailed it in. He should be ashamed of himself.

Jozy.. great finish, but I almost, no scratch that, I wish he had not scored. Every time he gets spoonfed a goal, people think he's the answer. He's fucking not. He's crap in 90% of the areas he shouldn't be crap in. We're going fucking nowhere with Jozy leading the line. Any idiot can see that.

Yedlin can't play in a 3-5-2, but man does he look sharp attacking down the flanks. Brek cracks me up and should be subbed off after he does something awesome. Bradley, whatever. hit the post. Yippee. He's been garbage since he came back to the MLS. Hard to argue that as well from any rational standpoint. Jones? Best player at the WC for us.. but umm.. not a center back.

More Zardes, more Nguyen. I didn't have a problem with Mix, obviously needs to be a creative force, not a DM.

What this all adds up to is that Juergen doesn't have a fucking clue. His promises are and have been garbage. Unbelievably good player, average coach. Fuck off, I'd say.

Hey that's a real nice argument. Have you been watching the games? JK is making him have DM duties. He's been playing DM. He needs to play CM, AM or nothing.

I've been following these forum's for a couple years now and this is my first time posting. Americans are too focused on wins and losses in these friendly matches.

1. We scored 2 goals in a friendly and we looked good in the final third.
2. Jozy scored and looked good I could care less what he does for his club as long as he keeps scoring goals for the USA
3. Wondowlowski should never be called up again we already know what he can do for us.
4. If we are calling up new players lets at least give the 45 to show something not a fan of the 15 min run outs
If we are going to the 3-5-2 this is the lineup I would like to see

Dempsey--Altidore

Mix
Johnson. Yedlin

Cameron. Bradley

Besler. Brooks. Jones

@jabbajolly- you were right- instead of loving him after he scored against chile, it appears you hate Jozy even more.... Almost as hater-ish as adms saying before the game he hoped Bob wood crapped his pants so he would never be called up again. Wtf is wrong with you people?

(Zardes finishing needs work, notice he didn't go low to the far post like the clinical Jozy did). At least use realistic hate.

Yedlin was good in the 3-5-2 I must have watched a different game than you. First half in that formation before we changed it up, he was arguably out best player- both offensively and defensively.
