Well okay. So according to 2tone only national teams with mostly domestic based players are good. Thus the Chile win today. But uh oh.. their domestic league is better than MLS?

Jones should retire tomorrow.

For playing the position that his coach told him to play? It's not his fault that JK thinks JJ at CB is a good idea.

That third goal he blantanly didn't catch or tip over the bar the initial shot- he palmed it right to that guy. I get he didn't stop the shot that's not what I'm talking about. Rimando just isn't an international keeper. Sean Johnson should've played regardless of the outcome. He's just better and has a box presence. So does hamid, who is injured. Those two should back up Guzan. That's just one mans opinion. But Sean was great last season and shouldn't be penalized for garbage teammates on his club team. In every game last year what happened tonite occurred and Sean made save after save and earned a lot of those record 18 draws. He's got big hands and catches the ball well, unlike nick Rimando.

1) gotta play Nguyen from the opening whistle. No question.
2) Jozy scored a nice goal, granted from great work from Mixx and Yedlin. And completed, from my count, 3 passes. And moved about 12 feet on the evening. He's entirely useless, but he keeps getting PT and that's just wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrooong. I could give a fuck about his friendly goals.. if we go into Russia in 2018 with Jozy as our lead striker, we're not making progress.
3) I thought Yedlin was awesome for 60 minutes and then got tired.
4) Shea should have been subbed at halftime so he left feeling good about himself.
5) Rimando a distant 3... or 4.
6) Jermaine is not a center back. Jermaine is not a center back. Jermaine is not a center back.Jermaine is not a center back
7) 3-5-2 might deserve another shot, but not with those players.
8) Was Mix playing a defensive middie? What the hell?

Fact: those Chile players are 4 games into their season. While our guys are still in preseason mode.

It's not that hard to understand that.

Fact: It's a friendly!

You're underestimating the ferocity of the first shot. It very easily could have been a goal and Nick kept it out. That's all you can ask for, the rebound went right to Chile but that goal is by no means on Rimando.

Another collapse in the second half. What's the point of putting Lee Nguyen when we are going to defend for 30 mins...
Debuts:
Zardes - did alright but could have had an assist at the end when Bradley was making a run.
Birmbaum - Up and down moments almost had an own goal.
Trapp - struggled when Chile pressured still needs to step up more to play international level.
Decent debut overall adding the fact there is no MLS atm

Chiles league arguably has better young players and is historically more accomplished than MLS that's for sure. So if they are midseason what's the shame in losing a friendly where jk tinkered with people and tactics.

Bring on Panama! It will be interesting to see what they can do. Spanish announcers were talking about Panama bringing up some U20 players from the team that just did so well. Midfield was a Jekyl/Hide monster tonight. I hope we get our shit together for Panama.

Definitley do not need to use that formation lol. Scratch it Jurgen. Dempsey balled out today, Shea showed he is definitley a winger not a back, Yedlin needs to play RB in the formation not RM, I think Bobby Wood played today, i dont recall (sarcasm), Birnbaum is pretty much solid, like to see a little more though, it seemed he just had a case of "first cap jitters", Didnt see a lot of Zardes today to make a solid review of his game today. Yeah, its a lost but it seems like we learned a lot about the players today, dont care too much about the results.

Only real concern for me is the continued lack of wide attackers.

Liked that they played a 3-5-2. Thought they played well offensively in the first half.

I noticed that the US switched to a 4-4-2 diamond at the beginning of the second half.
Didn't fare to well this night.

@skangles- so hamid doesn't tip that over the bar? I think he does- or catches it. I know Sean would've. I'm sticking to this. Guzan, let the two kids fight it out. Rimando has never done it for me. Going back over 10 years. Hes not international quality. Good guy, but too small and poor on crosses. Like how the rest of you view Wondo.

Maybe not. But, maybe he could have been better. No question to anyone he's a distant 3rd at best, though, right? Nothing wrong with that.

I want to see Perry Kitchen playing the Beckerman role against Panama. Make it happen Juergen!
