Excellent game. A goal and two assists. The best USMNT player is an 18 year old. That's awesome..

Wood is the striker in the best form. Bruce won't bench him.

It was Juergen's time to get the axe but he took a lot of shit for playing Pulisic centrally against Mexico and it now doesn't appear to have been a bad idea. He clearly saw the potential even if it didn't work out in that particular game.

Huh? Pulisic looked great against Mehico.

It is an interesting discussion about whether you player a great player out of position because you have a gap elsewhere and you know that guy is good enough to capably fill it. Happening with FJ. Happened all the time in USMNT with Lando. I don't know that you can resolve it, but I generally think you need to put your best players where they play the best and if it means someone sub-par has to be in the first 11 (at left back or wherever) then so be it.

I have to disagree with you a bit. You have to look at the options available and determine what gives you the best chance to be successful as a team. Fabian's best position is in the midfield, but the other options at midfield are of a higher quality/ability than the other options at Left Back.
I'd take any combination of Pulisic, Nagbe, Green, Gooch, Arriola, & Zardes as wide midfielders than any of our LB options not named Fabian....At least for the time being since:
A) Garza needs to prove he can stay healthy & handle speedy wingers.
B) Villafana can get back to playing consistent minutes at the club level
C) Lichaj gets a chance to prove he's able to play LB at the international level (preferably in a Friendly).

Everyone clearly saw the potential for Pulisic in the middle, man, come on.
At that time he was only playing wide for his club and he was 17.

Someone started that, w re to headers because of my bringing up his weaknesses. I brought up the fact that people kept mentioning that he was small and needed more body because I personally felt that complaint was unfounded.

Who cares? Look at what he's doing? Is anyone bodying him up? Suarez is a beast, he LITERALLY puts a body on people, I wish Suarez and Altidore would have a conversation a sit down so that he could give him some pointers. HE seems like the type of dude who would totally do that for us, he was trying to get Lodeiro a contract with Seattle. lol

So the fact that Suarez does that doesn't mean that it's an archaic style, or something less sophisticated. It's just HIS style. And look, he's working it for Barca.

By that same measure Pulisic doesn't need anything but a super clean technique and some really intense acceleration to get him in and out of danger spots.

There is nothing to fear any more, the kid is here. He's our best player, and possibly our 10. And none of that is hype.

Also, when Akale, or Josh Perez, or Zelalem get run and we think "well maybe they need to hit the gym..."

No. If it's the gym it's to pick up a futsal ball and start speed workouts. This is how we change the way we play.

I have been saying for awhile now he should start underneath Bob Wood-- his quickness of movement goes well with Woods speed over the top. If they go long with Wood they can't go short with Pulisic. The other team may have to consider bunkering in that case. Let Fabian and Arriola play out wide.

I literally can't hold my excitement lol, I've been a little boy since yesterday night.

Miazga - playing in Europe, worthy of a call up

Hyndman, playing in Eurpoe worthy of a call up

Zelalem, playing? maybe, worthy of seeing what he's got, not make the 18 or 23 in a friendly for the US

Josh P - Fiorentina, maybe that's a stretch, put him in the Zelalem camp, non MLS break time friendly

Cameron is a SOLID SOLID CDM for Stoke. Something Bradley (who's body of worked up until 2014 I loved dearly) couldn't say he pegged down. A Starting job, with such responsiblity, against teams like Man City, Man U Chelsea etc...

Fab - a quality, class player, who's a semi star for B Mochen

Pulisic - lol I can't even describe this guy.

Brooks - one of the best CB's in Bundesliga at the moment. Don't take my word for it.

CCV - about to start for Tot, esp sooner if Pochetino gets perpetually pissed off by Wimmer, Vertogen etc

Yedlin - yea got "demoted" to championship, but ripping it with Newcastle, not for injury, our first string RB, "best" RB in the Eng Champ

Nagbe - yea he's in the MLS and yea he has the motivation of a cali stoner, but the dude outside of the younger midfield rat pack has the best skill set that Euro teams would covet on our national team. And physique and athleticism of an NFL CB. Same with Yedlin.

Wood, Bobby f'ing Wood - best striker in Europe we have right now. Got Hertha Berlin saying, "keep your hands off him, he's ours".

we're last ( i think) in the hex,and i've never been more hopeful for our squad. never.

Honestly I have believed in pulisic ever since this dude popped up on the scene for the u-15 bnt. Maybe it's because he was born the same year ( '98 ) as me or something but I knew he was gonna be a stud. It's also interesting to see because no one hyped this dude up like everyone did to Adu, Zelalem, or even Zardes. He's also ways been low key but now I believe this game has finally put him on the map. Look out 2018 World Cup, even though we still gotta qualify first lol.

Nah bro, Pulisic's been hyped up lol.

I will to this day, defend Adu. As he made contributions to our National team, in official tournaments. It didn't turn out the way we wanted to (Pele son), but we got something out of it.

I can't wait for Pulisic to start in the gold cup and finally for once, just pound out our Concacaf Nemesis.

4-0, no shots on goal for other team. 65 percent possessoin. Basically BVB vs Benfica last night.
