Damn it I tried for a couple minutes, I know that someone, think maybe 2tone started a Pulisic is now in the Men's thread.. but I can't find it. I own up to the fact that I am a noob, my bad dudes.

But Adrian Ramos just got dealt to China, clearing the space for the F camp at BVB who if not for individual quality, is to die for w/ regards to quantity. They can literally play 5 games in a week start a permutation of that set, and only wind up playing 2 games each. Real Deep.

However the more we get in to transfer season, the more it seems that TUschel has gone all young, and Pulisic is part of that. I am texting with my friend, can you believe that Pulisic has put his name alongside Reus, Schurrle, Geotze etc..

I'm just beside myself.

This is going to sound nitpicking...

but something I've noticed that's very disturbing.

He's quick

He's swift

He adds pace

He's quick

He's fast.

never..

He's got skill, his technique is great, he has close quarters capabilities. Hell through our nation under the bus, I give you permission "he doesn't play like an American".

This is like the 10th pulisic article I've read this past week, with quotes from foreign coaches, and the majority of the plaudits have been about his athletic capability.

It's ok man, he is playing Bundesliga and CL.

It's ok if he's not so spectacularly technical at 18 that Bundesliga coaches are remarking on it. If his technicals were bad he'd be with the youth team . . . of a different club.

It's not important.

Just weird, clearly BVB values him.

It's akin to a person going on stage and saying we love this no. 5 up here. And he's clearly a 6. I don't understand. It only serves to get a glimpse of what they're thinking.

Congratulations to Pulisic, right decision to stay I feel. When the new deal is up, he'd still be only 21/22, plenty of time if he wants a new club/challenge/more money then.

Messi is the best because of how fast he runs with the ball. Pace, quickness and directness to goal. In all sports it can be the main deciding factor between differing skill levels, the speed of play and player.

Assuming for the sake of argument that this is accurate, how much of that do you attribute to age/body type?

I don't think he's weak at all, it was literally one of the things everyone complains about when a young guy gets run for the U S MNT "he gets pushed off the ball"

I'm watching the game vs Mexico and going over the game vs Benfica, and he's literally almost never losing the ball.

I think for him to have that at 18 is incredible, his body type? Meh, size means ish in footy.

He bounces off fools trying to double him up, lol he was doing it against Benfica.

I want people to NEVER mention something like that ever again, about anybody without watching them play.

I feel the same way about Nagbe, when the ball comes to their feet in pressure, or when it's a 50/50 i'm MORE suprised when I don't see them scuttle out of it.

But also, like I said before on his thread, I think..

Why doesn't anyone in the Bundesliga ever say THAT about him?

That he's tough as rocks, I mean I get the workrate thing that Tuschel was commenting on (which people erroneously attribute to defense in the US? what? Pulisic isn't defending 1 v 1, he's harassing people in space, and playing lanes, and he's working hard w/o the ball). I'm waiting for someone to say, this kid has quality, incredible "touch". Just once you eurosnobbish publications!!!! (jokes jokes.. or maybe not totally)

I don't think he is weak on the ball. I think he is just green and makes poor decisions with the ball. that just takes time.

Because "touch" is a given for all of the best players. I mean seriously, how often do you hear about touch for the players on the top teams? Once in a while I guess. Berbie, sure, all the time, but he was Elmer's fucking glue.

Agree....there nothing that's technically deficient there. Even the subtle stuff like off-ball movement and defensive tracking is ahead of his years, IMO. It's the "when to take on a dude" and just seeing the game better.

Admittedly, ears pinned-back Pulisic is a fun watch.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
