All I know about Tierney is that set piece goal.

Also, good lord, the play-by-play guy for that broadcast...... sad face

Wasn't Clarks fault, Crew defense, mainly Wahl, just kept backing up and up and up, letting Nguyen just waltz into the top of the box and place the ball into the corner of the goal. Not Clarks fault, just terrible and indecisive defending from the Crew defenders.

Not entirely his fault, no. But he didn't even leave his feet and that ball went by him not that far away. His feet were moving on the shot when they should have been set, and he got beat by a stoppable ball. He's a chump on that play at least.

I actually thought of the 4 goals allowed that one by Nguyen was the only one Clark couldn't do much better with. The first was pathetic, second not much better and he got a weak hand and stone feet on that shot by Davies. Nice shot by Tierney though he always plays well when I see him.

I kinda agree, except the Davies goal was a beautiful bender that dinked off the post. Not much he could do there. Once again Wahl stood way off the attacker and got burnt. The Tierney goal was pretty, but Clark did cheat a little too much to his right thinking Nguyen was going to take it, then Tierney smacked it in. The first goal was a combination of shitty goaltending and defenders not tracking their marks all the way through until the end of play.

1st NE goal: some keepers would dive pre-emptively, although Clark's not spoiled for choice on that one.
2nd NE goal: That free kick is in a nasty spot. It's not so wide that righties can't shoot. He has to give up something on that. Tierney's shot could have scored on a lot of keepers in a lot of leagues.
3rd NE goal: Clark half to blame. Too much re-positioning, not enough getting his feet set.
4th NE goal: Holy cow, hamsamwich, how are you blaming Clark for that? Ever play keeper?? I've had enough time to take steps on shots like that as a GK, but a perfect bend in off the post is just going in, man.

Definitely a nice shot, and yes before I permanently ducked my shoulder up. I just feel like we have this discussion about 3rd keeper and Clark seems to come up from time to time. Can't have a keeper with concrete feet. Davies didn't quite get the power he wanted.

Congratulations to Charlie Davies by the way he's had quite the strong finish.

Why are we discussing Clark? The real problem was the horror show of Wahl! First goal he was busy practicing his matador skills, second goal was his awful missed tackle (could have been a red card) that set up the free kick, third and fourth goals he retreated too deep and allowed free shots to very good attacking players. I'm not sure I've ever seen such a complete display of ineptitude by a single player in one game. Obviously this position needs an upgrade and a few others but I'm confident Berhalter has the team moving in the right direction and this season was probably too soon for the Crew to make a serious run for the title.
