I'm as big a Lando fan as there is on these boards. And I've said many times that the appearance of his rather large gut at the beginning of this season was a sign that he was not the same Lando of old (although still plenty good enough to go to Brazil).

Anyway, I thought from the opening whistle last night he had the old fire. Not that I needed to be convinced, but he's still got it when he wants it. I hope last night's performance gives him the motivation to drop 5 pounds in the next week - it shouldn't be that tough if he wants to do it.

Ozzie Alonso is such a good player. I still think he'd be a good player for the national team if only Cuba would let it go but you can understand where they are coming from I guess.

Seattle a bit to open in midfield for my liking.

Castillo is fun to watch.

Good game. A tad sloppy at times, but still enjoyable with some very good moments of technical skill from both teams.

C'mon Seattle!

Yeah, Castillo is a defender's nightmare...the guy draws a ridiculous crowd whenever he enters the attacking third. It's like a 2-3 man fire drill trying to close his space.

Watson is a dead end...Diaz is killing the tempo standing on the ball. Dallas should be isolating Castillo out wide and feed him the ball non stop... instead of overlapping Watson...you're taking your best attacker of space out of the game forcing him into traffic...

I will make no bones about it: Seattle's performance was not very good at home.

You have to say LA look the stronger team going into that series.

I would really love for Landon to play one more year. I have a feeling next year, the league will be way better than this one and this year it was really enjoyable. It will suck because it could probably be the best year and the best MLS player will not be around. Guys like Kaka and Villa plus other players who may come will help.

Really makes you wish Seattle had a good surface to play on. There was a lot of skill out there and some good moments, but there could have been a lot more good play if the ball would settle and run normally.

If Castillo's finishing was better, he'd be unstoppable.

Hope Alonso's hammy isn't too bad and the international break gives him enough time to recover.

I have the NY v NE game on right now, and I'm headed to LA v SE in about 90 minutes.

I have high hopes for the quality of these 2 series.
