Johnsen has been out of Hearts lineup for awhile now. Id say a guy not making the field for a Scottish mid table team shouldnt be in our WCQ matches.

You can argue he should have gotten a look in November but not now as something is clearly off with his form.

That's the problem with so many US fans, we think we are better than we really are. We should be throwing the kitchen sink at them. Right now, we are at a crossroads. We have to look into all our options and beggars can't be choosers. Until our U-20s(a few U-23s) and U-18s fully develop then we should be trying anyone that can possibly get the job done. I think Maars can score vs. Honduras and Panamas of the world. He doesn't necessarily need to be the guy there like someone said there was a coaching change before that he was scoring goals fairly regularly.

Is this guy's game supposed to be like Seb Lleget? Would like another player like Lleget.

Sebastian was brought up as a central midfielder. I imagine this guy is a more out and out winger. Someone like an Arriola but with more skill moves.

Nah. The lads over at BS tell me he is more like a skilled Bedoya. He has a good defensive workrate but more of the technical ability of a Fabian Johnson. Mostly plays as a LW but has played centrally as well. I am not sold on Villafana thus far. Keep an eye out for Kenny as a LWB as well.

Loved his cameo. An unforeseen gift for the Nats.
Can't wait to see the link up play with Wood and CP.

I believe Tillman is staying in German set up for now (was called into recent U19 camp).
Nunes isnt happening.
Im assuming you mean replace Bradley with Acosta right? Im on board but likely after 2018 World Cup. Acosta showed he can play next to Bradley and the next wave of guys probably wont be ready until after 2018.

Acost blew a midfield (getting megged by Chicha) tackle on the race back to his box and then had the shot go underneath his foot while in his box (damn dog, what are you doing int he box as a midfielder?) against Mexico in Azteca.

I mean there are alot of great things he's done. I would put him over Bradley at this point... but I'm not sure he's "showed" he can play with Bradley. The guy who plays with Bradley, a CDM, stops those runs through the middle.

Kenny Saief suffers infection after hernia surgery. Return delayed "several more months"

Sad. I'd say his chance of making WC are very low now.

That would pretty much rule him out this year domestically. No shot he makes the World Cup team without playing a competitive match in 18 months

Even if he's back by say December? I would think he just needs to play, and play well and he'll at least be on the periphery
