The 2015 U-20 CONCACAF tournament is going to be played from January 9-24 in Jamaica. Montego Bay sports complex and the National Stadium.

Remember this is a new format; consisting of a Round Robin group stage play with 2 groups of 6. The 2 group winners get automatic bids to the 2015 U-20 WC in New Zealand. While the second and third place teams play one game playoffs against each other in the following round.

Also there will be a championship game between the two Round Robin group winners. Essentially meaningless because they have already locked up their spots to the WC.

USA has never won the Concacaf sub 20 championship. Maybe this will be it.

Should be fun. US should be able to bring a strong squad.

Yes, these are the qualifiers for the 2015 U-20 World Cup. I don't like the one game playoffs between second and third placed teams. Just let the top two advance to the semis if you want to do a six team round-robin. I also wonder how the notoriously poor fields in Jamaica will hold up with all of these games in a short timeframe.

You always had a one game playoff to make it. At least now win your group and you don't have to worry about it. Even if we don't win our group (say CR or Honduras edge us out) then we likely only have to beat a team like Cuba or panama to get in. Chance we finish in 3rd in a group is slim to none.

Right, I didn't like the old system either. This just strikes me as not being enough of an improvement.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
