Donovan looking like mls mvp!! Can't help but say he would of been a James rodriguez type for USA had he been called oh well we got dominated most of the wc and that's what we get for hiring a coach that plays boring defensive soccer. Bradley was the same.

For some reason every thread somehow turns out into a mnt conversation. Your right on that.

Huh. I wonder why.

GIVE IT UP. MY GOD.

Also, you just said that Landon Donovan would have played as well as the winner of the Golden Boot at this year's World Cup. I feel like typing "lolololol" isn't enough here. You are absolutely, batshit insane.

Donovan is not even close to looking like an MLS MVP.

I will say that LD is looking so much better and its good that he might end on a high. It is disappointing that he seems to have had lost passion before all this. You cant blame the guy for being tired of playing since he has carried US soccer. Just disappointing that he can still play for a good amount of years.

Landon didnt go to Everton when he was clearly wanted why would he go now? Not to mention Everton dont need him anymore with the likes of Atsu, Pinear, miralles etc etc

Well Peanuts is always injured, so he's not really a viable option for us anymore. But yes, we have Mirallas, Atsu, McGeady, Naismith, even Oviedo or Coleman could play wide if need be.

Not to mention we just don't need Landon. And Landon's lack it passion for the game is DEFINITELY not what we need.

Agree and its a shame too because from the impression I got he was wanted by Everton and fans. Would have been working well with R.Martinez. oh well. That lack of passion for Donovan is because he has played in MLS forever. Overall MLS was way too easy for him and just like anything it starts to get boring after a while. Always thought that if he was in a CL team or top league it would bring a sense of freshness to his career.

Agreed. I think he showed in his two loans with us that he absolutely had the chops to play in Europe. I just think Landon is the type of person who didn't want to fight for anything. He tried at Bayern and Leverkusen and it didn't work well, so he came back here where he knew he would be successful. Instead of really working hard and trying to prove himself in Europe, he took the easy road and came back.

Such a shame, because Landon absolutely had the quality in his prime to be a big success in Europe.

This defies logic. Your perspective is not only skewed, but absolutely wrong.

Wasnt it the Galaxy that didnt let Landon go? Or asked way too much? If Landon kept playing the way he played then he was an undisputed starter in Everton. I think its a very different situation from Bayen when he was a kid. I mean the guy went from the end of an MLS season where he played till the MLS cup final to an EPL that was in mid season and he started to bench Evertons wingers who i forgot who at that time were. He was a starter in Everton if he moved. Oh well Ill be great to see another american outfield player wearing the Everton Blue soon. DOnt ask me who lol.

I said that we should've signed an American to capitalize on the popularity of the USMNT, and Howard, this summer. Not sure who, thought maybe Yedlin. Use him on the flank and as backup for Coleman. Either way, I think clubs are starting to realize the potential $$$ in signing Americans. That club instantly receives attention from American fans, and potentially new fans to the club.
