RSL V Seattle was a good game. RSL win 2-1. Gill played well in his preferred #10 role.

New England V Portalnd: Charlie Davies with the lone goal at halftime. That's 2 goals in 2 games for CD9. Good to see him playing well again. Seems he is continuing the comeback trail.

Columbus V LA: Columbus with the lead, and have been very good.

SKC V Toronto: 0-0 at halftime

MTL V Chicago: Tied 0-0

HOU V Philly: Houston starting to heat up. Will Bruin playing well and scoring goals. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a call up for the October friendlies.

Columbus destroyed LA 4-1. I could see Columbus making some noise down the stretch and getting into the playoffs. Zardes with the lone goal for LA which takes him to 10 goals on the season. Tchani and Trapp are impressive as a pair at CM for Columbus.

SKC V Toronto: SKC leads 2-1 at half. Good game so far.

NE V PPOR: Game ended 1-1.

MTL V CHI: MTL with the late winner.

The rookie Eric Miller for Montreal is a ridiculous talent at LB, Him and Yedlin would make a nice pair by the way they move into the attacking third. Hopefully we can see them together with the u-23s. Both these guys could end up being a huge part of the team's attack. Huge Darkhorse for me judging by this season.

Zardes scoring is insane. Theres a stat that the only 22 yr old to score at this rate was no other than LD back when he was 22. Its funny though he missed a tap in!
Another thing is wow:
LA lose 4-1 to crew
San Jose get destroyed by Dallas 5-0 at home!
and KC destroys Toronto 4-1.
15 goals in those 3 games lol.

Matt Hedges is a quality, quality CB. I really hope he gets his just rewards and receives a USMNT call-up in Sept. or October. He is quietly putting together a defensive player of the season campaign.

His athletic ability is pretty impressive. Faster than you think, can out jump mostly anyone, and his passing and defensive positioning is really good. I could definitely see him beating out Omar for the USMNT RCB position during this WC cycle. I have been impressed with Hedges since his rookie season. I still think Porter completely overlooked him for the 2012 Olympic qualifying team.

Akindele is an enticing athletic #9 prospect who has dual citizenship with Canada. Bagged a hat trick yesterday. Should get a look if he keeps it up

Matt Hedges has really stepped it up. Especially since his partner George John has been dealing with injuries the whole season. He and Akindele have been two of the standout players for FC dallas. With Akindele I am guessing he ends up playing for canada since I think he will get called up for september friendly for Canada. I think Zardes, and Bruin will be called up for september. The only problem for hedges getting called up might be klinsmann might only be looking for four centerbacks. So cameron, Besler, Gonzo, and Brooks are probably ahead of him at the moment. Cameron because of versatality. Only way I don't see Brooks called up is if he starts on the bench. That I think would open the door up for Hedges. Zardes and Bruin I think are much more likely due to johansson, and boyd being injured.

Does Akindele have dual citizenship? Every time they mention him they say he is Canadian.

His wiki page says nothing about him being a dual national. He has only played for Canadian youth teams.

Akindele will go with Canada he has a shot with them. He knows he has a very small chance if not zero than being a regular with the mnt.

I could see Luis Silva getting a call-up in October.

Luis Silva seems to play his best when Eddie Johnson is not there. I wonder if the coaching staff of DC United will take a look at that. Eddie Johnson's season has been pretty disappointing if I am dc united I would look at ej not in the starting 11 from this point forward. He is disruptive lazy and I think he has a lot of pent up anger and aggression from a variety of issues. Its a shame because outside of soccer he can be a really cool guy. Also when he is focused he is a very good target forward he is one of the best players on corner kicks and crosses in the box in mls when he is focused. Unfortunately for DC United they still have to deal with EJ for the rest of the year. I hope it doesnt hurt them in the playoffs like it did seattle.

Glad to see my boys are getting so much love from the peanut gallery, but no mention of who some have called the most terrifying attacker in the league right now - Fabian Castillo. Ever since he started with us, his raw talent and potential have been obvious. This season, however, we're finally starting to see that speed and ability to open up space behind a backline paying off, both in terms of having two willing and able strike partners in Blas and Tesho, and also in terms of his finishing ability.

Hedges is another one, always had heaps of talent and potential, but was overshadowed (originally) by John and Ihemelu. With both of them on extended injury layoffs, "leader of the defense" and effectively the armband were within his grasp and were his to lose. He's had a few missteps here and there since then but has by-and-large been one of the most consistent players in the league this season.
