US U-17 De La Torre has signed a pro contract with Fulham. Kid may be better CM than Hyndman.

Is he a CM proper, or more like an attacking CM? Have you seen alot of the kid? How's his work rate?

He is way more on the attacking side, I have seen several clips of Luca. I'm sure Fulham will help turn him into a proper box to box CM like they did with Hyndman when he first came to the club. But man does this kid have some serious skills, clips I've seen of him are all amazing plays. Signed his contract in July.

I though he was ok with the sub 17s I did not see nothing very impressive but he plays smart and has big upside. He will get better no doubt.

Very smooth runner with the ball, seems to just glide by players. Yeah needs to work a bit more on the defensive side, but his passing is excellent along with his 1v1 attacking skills. To be honest he reminds me of KaKa when Luca is dribbling the ball.
Very promising young player.

Hopefully another good prospect who'll add depth to the player pool. The US is really starting to stack up young (17-21yr) CM's.....
Gil, Stanko, Canouse, Hyndman, Trapp, Sonora, kid @ Dortmund, kids @ TJ, and now this guy.
Nice collection of potential players to integrate into the USMNT over the next 4-6 years to replace the current CMs core (Jones, Beckerman, Edu, Bradley, Torres, Williams).

"One magnificent dribble by De La Torre saw him beating five players before seeing his shot come back off the post."
With the way the first team is playing thus far, maybe they'll need to call him up. Obviously I'm joking, but jesus...they look absolutely dreadful so far.

it would be interesting if they try to mould luca into a bryan ruiz playmaking type...i do not see them abusing his attacking prowess in a box to box situation...hyndman much more suited for that - got a hell of an engine both of em though

Fulham knows how to scout and get the best of american players. Mcbride, Dempsey, Hyndman and now Luca. Great for him hopefully he breaks in this season.
