Eh, trying to maintain a glimmer of optimism, but I concur. Brek in the Netherlands just seems like a natural to me.

Whole heartedly agree. IMO, more of our players should look at the Netherlands as a legitimate stepping stone to playing in Europe.

Seriously. English is widely spoken. Teams play attacking soccer. Don't offer outrageous contracts and give youth players chances after chances. They also send tons of guys to epl and bundesliga. Anyone under 21 should be looking there to get European experience and exposure. Learn from some great coaches and clubs. Then in 1-3 years move on to England, Germany, or Italy (Spain usually plucks from Portugal and South America).

Brek to transfer to Orlando City - http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orlando...

Good move, in my opinion. At this point in his career however, I don't think it puts him back into the USMNT picture even if he plays well there. He's been too inconsistent for me and I don't see him overtaking youth (Rubin, hopefully Gyau and Green).

Good for him though making a move that's productive for his career!

I'd like to see the contract details before I fully make my mind up but I will say that Shea needed to move back to get consistent minutes. He's also only 24 and a highly recognizable face which makes sense for an expansion team.

If he plays well for Orlando, it absolutely puts him back in the USMNT picture. The USMNT has a dearth of wingers right now.

Really good move. Dude will be playing and learning from KAKA.

Orlando City may just be on paper a favorite to win the east next year.

To be honest that foot injury really derailed his rise. To be honest Stoke City was not the right team for him to go to. Even Klinsmann stated that he didn't want Shea to make that move.

Shea is not a player I miss on the national team and hopefully coming back to MLS is good for his career not for the national team. I don't think he can bring much to the side against quality international opponents.
