Interesting points made here. It's true, if this match tonight can't garner a respectable audience, MLS needs to figure out something else to do. They've advertised this match well, it has an abundance of star power, and it's on a weeknight with no other real competition.

If I remember correctly, the 2013 MLS All-Star game ratings weren't that good (500,000 viewers)

I know exactly how to make this a bigger and more viewed event but I don't give my ideas away for free.

I think the biggest mistake was by not playing it at the Oregon Ducks stadium and I never saw ESPN advertise the All-Star game beyond ESPN FC.

I'm making an attempt to watch this game at Buffalo Wild Wings knowing that the only real competition will be the SF Giants game already in the 4th inning by the time it starts. I'm gonna get loud if I can get it on a Big TV with no game volume and yell out how theres 160 baseball games a season.

Idk why but unimas is advertising the game much more than ESPN. Would not be surprised if they get higher ratings than ESPN. I also enjoy watching some games on unimas because is more exciting and most games on espn makes it seem boring specially the commentary is absolutely awful, I saw very few wc games on ESPN.

Ian Darke is better than any univision/unimas commentator.

@admsghs27

Mexican announcers act like kids so you probably can relate to them better. I'm almost certain you're probably mexican or el salvadorian.

Its beyond annoying with mexican commentators calling players by their nicknames or in game nicknames given to them. On top of that, the advertisements are annoying, car insurance, home depot, beer and cell phone commercials and they will find anyway to advertise a mexican national team game or liga mx like 100 times.

Ill pass and stick with our English roots........

Not all are Mexican commentators. I prefer to listen to the south American ones. And no I'm not Mexican. But I would prefer to listen to a Mexican commentary than a British one they make you fall asleep during a match unless is ray Hudson no thanks.

Martin Tyler is very monotone and a bit boring. That' my take. He is still good, but a tad boring.

I like livelier commentators i.e. Darke, Cantor etc..

Thought you were gonna say Lalas. I would've thrown my phone against the wall had that been the case.

I was glad when ESPN brought in Jon Champion. Hes a very underrated English commentator. Hope he can do more games.

Healey is top notch IMO. He knows MLS and is lively all the time.

Did I lie about anything I said, or does call out what I see offend you?

Andres cantor one if not the best ever. If anyone heard him on the radio he was literally crying after the wc final. He is Argentinean. But has a huge passion for us soccer. Also Luis omar tapia on unimas is a big us soccer supporter he is from Chile.

While MLS allstars vs. Bayern Munich is clearly more popular, what do you think a game between the LA Galaxy and the newly promoted EPL team Burnley would be like?

What's the significance of this? Did they play a friendly this summer, or are planning on it?

I'm so confused about what you're trying to compare.

On another note I think the MLS all star game should be moved to a weekend in the future. On a Sunday Afternoon..
