Does anyone else get frustrated everytime they see another Costa Rican transfer up the european ladder while not a single American was able to do so. First Navas gets to go to one of the top clubs in the world, and should take Casillas's job away. Then today Gamboa transfers to start at WBA. Add in Jol Campbell and Costa Rica will arguably have 3 players playing for better teams than any American (WBA has historically been pretty similar to Everton). I think Costa Rica may be closng the gap much quicker than anyone realizes

They have good talent. They played better than usa in Colorado in a controversial match and beat us easily in Costa rica. The better they get the better Concacaf will be, hope other teams fallow soon is better to have stronger competition.

Your overall point is valid but right now Everton is better than WBA and I don't think Navas will start at Real Madrid. I mean he could but Diego Lopez has been absolute class for them and unseated Casillas over a year ago. Navas will probably start as the Number 2. That being said Navas is a great keeper.

I dont get frustrated. Costa Rica had a tremendous showing at the World Cup. Teams are banking on their success. Campbell, Ruiz, Navas, and Gonzalez are top notch.

Yedlin ready to make a move
Green is at Bayern
Brooks had plenty of suitors but is at Hertha
Besler had suitors
Cameron might move away from Stoke

Most of our roster were established veterans. Fabian who had a great World Cup just moved up to Gladbach. Chandler didnt play but moved to Eintract Frankfurt.

Bradley and Dempsey just moved to MLS. Bedoya as well

Davis and Zusi are better off in MLS.

Noone gave us a beating like Costa Rica did on our way to qualifying. We did not beat Costa Rica convincingly in our home leg. And that was the snow game.

Ruiz to me, hands down, preferably or at least comparable to Dempsey, Campbell is that winger we do not have. Pace skill technique, hell even Boris Yeltsin has more promise than any of our midfielders. No, this doesn't frustrate me.

I love Howard to death, he does superman things with shotstopping, but he consistently gets beat near post. Why?

I hope the part about Yeltsin is a joke.

I also don't see the game in Costa Rica as convincing since we had plenty of chances to tie the game. Oh and Bradley went down right before the game.

The bit about Yeltsin was a bit much, but he's 22. I shoudl have said from an evaluative standpoint he showed better than any of our midfeilders not named Jones while having promise due to his age. Beckerman I would say was on his level, too old to say the same for him.

Costa Rica jumped on us early through our flanks and we never got a foot in that game. I don't know how much Bradley would have done with covering for our wing backs, the guy with the doo rag just raped our outside backs.

I think we freak out way too fast. They did make it to quarterfinals and that brings eyes ball to your national team. Costa Rica has talent but the real star in that team was Pinto and he left which will hurt them severely. Lets be truthful they wouldnt have made it without his tactics. As for the Colorado match it was pretty even if anything we should had have a penalty. Costa Rica has always owned us in away match

Meh. The US and Mexico will continue to be the dominant forces in this region. Costa Rica had a good showing at the WC. Nothing to see here.

Usa has never won in Costa Rica in qualifiers and they have beaten us here . Yes of course usa and Mexico will be the big dogs here but they had a much better world cup than usa by a lot!! Heck even Mexico had a better wc. But that's what happens when you make deep runs in a wc big clubs will be after you.

Was all over the news lately.

Also, whoever said West Brom is comparable to Everton...I oughta punch you. And not just because I'm an Evertonian. West Brom finished 3 points above relegation, in 17th place. We just missed out on a CL spot. Get outta here with that.

When we go into Honduras, Mexico and Costa Rica and slam them 3 - 0, in their court, I think then the world will say we are dominant in our confederation.

Same goes for Mexico, they used to exert their strength on foreign concacaf territory, not any more. Well, of course we will see this time around.

Yeah I took a 4 day weekend and didn't bother looking at any footie news, just saw an article on Sky that apparently 9 teams are looking for his services. Hughes sounds like he's poo-pooing any potential deal though, insisting that they won't get better by getting rid of key players.

Agreed. I think they brought in Bardsley as cover. Geoff was tremendous last season.
