Now I personally don't think Klinsmann will do straight up split rosters for the Sept. friendlies. I will concede that there may be a majority of MLS/Liga MX players for the Colombia friendly.

Lets take a look and see if Klinsmann should do split rosters:

USMNT V Czech Republic:

Here the US lacks experienced CM/CDM players from Europe due to injuries.

What they could have a glut of is Attacking Middies/Wide fwds:

Possible 25 man roster:

GK: Guzan, Cropper, Howard

Defense: Chandler, Lichaj, Fabian, Cameron, Ream, Brooks, Packwood

CM's: Morales, Spector, Jones(still officially a European based player for now), Stanko, Hyndman, Lletget, Mix

Attackers: Altidore, Agudelo, Wood, Green, Wooten, Shea, Gyau, Holmes

* Still no word on the Parker brothers; hence why they have been omitted

If Klinsmann wants to go young and inexperienced then this squad would be it.

Now lets look at an all MLS/Liga MX based USMNT 26 man roster for the Colombia friendly:

I will add some veterans:

GK: Hamid, Johnson, Rimando

Defense: Yedlin, Garza, Castillo, Beltran, Gonzo, Besler, Hedges, Orozco

CM's: Bradley, Powers, Kitchen, Trapp, Okugo, Edu, Torres

Attackers: Dempsey, Zardes, Koroma, Corona, Arriola, Nguyen, Gil, Zusi

I have Koroma getting called up over the likes of Bruin and McInerney because Klinsmann's staff are anxious to get him into the senior side soon. Kid is an impressive player. As long as his paperwork goes through for Esporte Clube Internacional(Brasil) this guy is going to be in Klinsmann's plans for the foreseeable future going forward.

* Donovan may get called up if Klinsy and Lando have made up.

What do you guys think? Should Klinsy do split rosters? Or should he integrate players form Europe and North America into his two possible rosters?

I like the integrate players idea I think it allows you to mix and match from rosters. Lets you bring the players who impress you when called up for czech republic. Then it allows you to drop players who might not have and bring in the mls players who weren't a part of the original 25. Its a good way to keep players on their toes while also rewarding those who performed well against the czech republic or did well in traning.

I really like both your rosters. I hope the Parker's join up. You can never have too much depth and i think Shawn has been scoring in preseason too. I think if he could have avoided offseason injuries Rowe could have made the MLs roster. He was great last year and hasn't been healthy until now and he's finally getting back into form. I know JK said we'd see lots of youth but there are some players on he I doubt he'll bring even tho I would like it (Lletget, Hyndman) but like you said were short on CM. I really like Williams and Boyd so it's a shame they're hurt. I just hope we don't see guys like Goodson, Parkhurst, Davis, Beckerman (even tho is WC was great), Eddie Johnson despite all being good servants to us over the past cycle and beyond.

Has Ventura Alvarado been playing at LB for his club?

If so, I think he should be part of the roster vs. Colombia

I would rather have an A squad vs Colombia, even if it means flying in our best Euro players which is only a couple, and only have them play a half vs Czech. So they could be ready vs Colombia. And no I dont think Donovan will accept a call up even if asked it won't be until the gold cup next year at least.

I just want some new faces. I like both lineups. I'm looking at the beginning of this cycle with a completely open mind. Unless Brad Davis and those alike are included. Ready for some fresh meattttt

They should stick with one roster. Maybe drop off a couple of guys from europe and change some secondary pieces (ie in your rosters leave guys like Stanko, Morales, Gyau behind for some MX guys). But he should be bringing in who he thinks will be his core guys for the world cup in 2018. Yedlin should definitely be in their against the Czech Republic. He needs more reps with Fab. Id like to see the following:

25 man roster:
GK: Howard, Guzan, Cropper (leave Howard and Cropper in Europe for Rimando and Johnson, Guzan to start vs Colombia).
Def: Chandler, Fab, Cameron, Brooks, Ream, Yedlin, Castillo, besler (leave Ream for Garza)
Mid: Jones, Bradley, Stanko, Morales, Edu, Mixx (leave Stanko for Trapp or Kitchen)
FWD: Dempsey, Jozy, Agudelo, Green, Gyau, Zusi, Gil, Holmes (leave Holmes and Gyau for Arriola and Corona or Koroma).

Minor tweaks so some extra young guys can get to see what a US camp is all about. Ideally He'd bring the 3 extra US based field players to the camp in europe to give them the 3-4 days of training. Then they can go home ahead of the team and join back up when they arrive home.

The theory has been brought about and nothing will ever happen. I've seen theories that have an USMNT A vs USMNT B in a real match to see who gels well and who should make the WC Roster. I've come to realize that in life and sports, if it makes sense it will not open..... Don't know why it's like this but it is. Totally agree on a split Roster..... It allows a bigger showcase of pool players and maybe surprising performances....

I Think Garza will be called for sure. We are thin at LB.

I think one roster is good. Most of those names are ones that I'd like to see but Im a little more pessimistic for those selections. There will be surprises and if most of these guys are on the roster I'll be glad to eat crow.

I would love to see split rosters just so we can see more players and potentially give some new faces a chance to show what they've got.

Would only make a couple tweaks to your 25, and it has more to do with the Vets you included than anything else. Drop Howard, Rimando, Cameron, Jones, & Dempsey. Maybe even Castillo. There is no need to bring them to these friendlies. Instead add: Hamid/Johnson, Packwood, Klute, & whomever from MLS/MFL who are in best form.
