Would Kljestan require a DP spot (sort of on the Maurice Edu level) or would they be able to get him on a Bocanegra/Goodson/Parkhurst type of contract? I could imagine there being enough interest in Kljestan to push him into the lower paid DP bracket.

Rumblings that it could be Kljestan.
He would be smart to come back. He's really fallen behind at Anderlecht. Still more than enough time for him to re-join the USMNT picture if he can get consistent playing time, which he would back home.
Their looking for a loan not a permanent signing. Would be a good move for LA, i think they should be looking for a Defender also.

Defender is vital for them in terms of depth. You could think that sacha will move after the 6 months loan
adds that much more depth in their midfield

@tylercocinas, re. post #20. Jones four WC performances displayed that he was capable of performing beyond classic #6 abilities and duties, at least for parts of those four matches.
However, at this point in time, on a day in day out club basis, he projects for all intents and purposes as a classic six.

A report had surfaced that Jones had signed with MLS, but he tweeted that this was not true. It seems that the problem holding back Jones from signing is that he wants to play for Chicago over New England. Reports say that New England is even willing to pay him more than what the league offered to sign him for. I wonder if Jones would explore a very short rest of the season contract and try to sign with LA since Landon is retiring.

The "Beast in the East" ! Sorry, had to say it. Good luck to JJ and the Revs going forward. The MLS East is really going to be fun to watch in the playoffs!

Excellent signing for the league.
When Lalas was talking about the Revs and Fire putting their bids in an envelope and Garber selecting one envelope at random which would be the terms of the deal, I thought only in the MLS. Seriously, what a process!
I completely understand the league's need to remain financially viable and their desire to maintain competitiveness via a salary cap but given that teams have DP slots why can't they go out and negotiate directly with players? This two envelope system makes the league look like a joke.

Nothing says legitimacy of a league like a blind drawing to decide which club gets to sign a marquee player...
