Not sure how Lichaj and Torres in their prime with a weaker pool in 2014 don't make it yet you think they'll be there in 2018. Not counting S.Johnson (3rd goalie doesnt matter) Besler is the only one likely to be on the 23 man roster and Omar will have a chance but I wouldnt bet on him.

IMHO - Lichaj would have had a chance to make the 2014 squad if not for his injury at the end of the season. He is just now entering into his prime.
Torres for me is a place holder, replacing Jones/Beckerman due to their age, until another CM can prove themselves and knock him off. There are a number of potentials, but they are all untested (Stanko, Kitchen, Canouse, O'Neill, etc....)
Not sold on Omar's inclusion either....but again until someone (Zimmerman, Dean, etc...) are seen at the Sr. International level.

CB pool after Brooks- Besler, Omar, Goodson, Cameron (?), Packwood (Champions league guy, injury prone), O'Neil (MLSer with no caps), Okogu (Development stalled). We're not oozing with CB talent.
.

Goodson is done. You can remove him from contention. There are other CB's who will get looks in the near future. Like you stated they are untested....but there are options.
Hedges, Zimmerman, & Dean are all guys that should get a chance to prove themselves.

So based off of recent developments, which conservatively speaking, we can count on

yedlin 25

Brooks 25

Cameron 32

Fabian 28

Bradley 30

Pulisic 19

Wood 25

Altidore 28

Thus far, average age is 26.5

So the question remains who's the missing two, I think we can pretty much pencil these guys in as of right now. Let's not call it the actual World Cup roster, let's define it as our core guys right now, their projected age at WC 2018.

If we include guys like Nagbe, it obviously increases it, if we do a Perry Kitchen in for Klesjtan then it reduces it. If we put Sasha in, well, you know.

Zardes vs Bedoya will be a future debate which will move the age range in either direction.

I'd bet a lot of money that green will be in the 23. And I'd bet a little that he'll be in the 11.

There are still a number of unknowns that will impact what our starting XI will be. The group round opponents may impact the player selections almost as much as who is available. Zardes (26.8), Nagbe (28), Kitchen (26.4), Green (23.1), Arriola (23.4) & Gooch (22.5 are all possible/likely contenders if things break their way. And as much as I'd like to think we've moved past them we can't rule out players like Jones (36.7), Dempsey (35.3), & Kljestan (32.8).

For a change we have a number of players who are still in the running for starting spots, and there are always those who get hot at the right time.

Truth,

I do not disagree about Green, I also think Morris will be a permanent fixture on this team as well. There is a good chance he takes over the Deuce spot on the 23, I doubt we see Deuce as a regular or even spot call up again. Other younger players I will not be shocked to see brought into the 23 will be CCV, Gaines, Kieswetter, Ebobisse, Zelalem, amongst others. Granted none of these are getting first team minutes minus Kieswetter at the moment, but I think we will see CCV and Gaines sooner rather than later and if Ebobisse and Zelalem continue to link up offensively like they did yesterday will be hard to keep them off the senior squad.

Yeah CCV is a man. I'd bet money on him to be in the 23.

CCV will be in the 23, either for US or England.

You feel both will be starters? or Potential?

Do you feel that they will be both starters if Gooch cements his place and Sunderland stays in the EPL?

I don't think either will make the 23.

Yea I don't either. I don't say hopefully to dismiss them, I would jsut rather see players like Arriola, Gooch, Green.

Does anyone feel like Green is the new Gyau type? Maybe not as fast, but more shiftier.
