Bournemouth sign highly rated midfielder Lewis Cook from Leeds.

Emerson's gonna have to really impress to consistently make the starting XI.

Competition is always a good thing. If hyndman can't beat out a 19 yr old then he doesn't deserve to play in epl.

Just to clarify, Emo only just turned 20 in April and Cook has nearly 4x as many professional caps as him. I wouldn't say he is a lock to beat him out. Your comment seems a bit harsh.

The two of them could play together in a midfield with no problem first of all, and let's see Hyndman make the game day 18 in the premier league first. Eddie Howe is no slouch and is the exact type of coach that we should like to see for our young USA players. Hopefully Emerson impresses him and he can get a handful of games. More likely is a loan back to the championship, which isn't a bad thing necessarily.

I dont think theres any chance he's loaned to a Championship team. He was brought in to play. If he cant earn a spot he'll ride the pine and then probably in winter be loaned to a league one, league two team and kiss his EPL career goodbye (see Holmes, Duane)

Holmes never was part of an EPL team, and Hyndman was a vauable free agent asset, there's no guarantee of anything for him. I think he has a good chance when you look at the other players in midfield.

No way Hyndman gets loaned to a league 1 or 2 team in the winter. He may get loaned to a Championship side in the winter, but if he gets loaned out to such a lower level would be a disaster for him. That is the equivalent of sending a highly touted player to high A ball after half a MLB season.

It seems like when Bournemouth loans an 18-20 yr old guy its usually to League one. Very rarely do they seem to loan to Championship

And Bournemouth has only been in the EPL for 1 season. However, sending him to League 1 or 2 would be an absolute disaster for Hyndmann.

The sense ive gotten is that he was brought because he was highly rated. Up to him to earn his spot now as long as he gets his chance of course.

Apparently not, he's not in the 18.
