As we have learned from the past three years Klinsman isnt always the best in new conferences. He say a lot of things to get the team motivated.

Just face up and admit Jozy had a horrible season and that his career is on a decline

Dude... Jozy is only 24 how on earth is his career on a decline? Every striker has horrible seasons but that doesn't mean they're on a decline. Jozy is still improving, this isn't fifa you know. Jozy's confidence declined during season, but his career is far from over.

I would be remiss not to add my boys Alfred Koroma and Jordan Morris into the conversation for 2018.

Alfred Koroma is already impressing with Fluminense Reserve team. Scoring I believe 2 goals and adding a further 3 assists as a LW.

Jordan Morris trained with the USMNT in Stanford and was seen assisting on goals and impressing Klinsmann.

Both are considered to be Olympic team starters.

2tome..I'm shocked you left your boy, Paul Arriola, off your list. Especially if he's "just as talented" as Green.

Yes I would say that second goal had a lot to do with the pass. He received stepped to right and shot. Something he should have been doing the whole season. Like I said he just smashes the ball semi accurately.

I suggest you watch a bit more closely. He received the pass, and then took two touches to beat the defender before shooting.

Others that jump out at me from memory-the goal against Spain in the Confed Cup and the wrongfully disallowed goal against Chelsea last season.

But whatever...you aren't reasonable on this subject based on your follow-up posting that is career is on the decline at 24. Ridiculous.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh the irony.

I don't know why you hate Jozy so much. Career is on a decline?

Please do explain how a 24 year old who has had one season that wasn't what many expected or hoped is in decline. 2 years ago this guy was being hailed for the potential he has, and what he can become, after he had a great season in the Eredivisie. NOW he is on a decline?

My goodness some are just blind.

I think Jurgen has more than proven he knows a heck of a lot more than we do.

All of us questioned severely why Brooks/Yedlin/Green and Gonzalez made the team (why some of them were even called up in the 30). Yet all 3 played VERY good. Jurgen gets the last laugh there. There is one thing you can not fault Jurgen for and that is recognizing talent.

Jermaine Jones, was a fringe player for Bob Bradley, a star with Jurgen. I'd guess with Bob still at the helm that Jermaine would still be just a fringe player.

Recognizing Beasley's potential as a LB. NO one saw that one coming. NO ONE. The guy has been a professional player for years and no one saw to do that with him. Yet we all questioned it and said no way. What does he do? probably has the best World Cup of his life and plays very well in defense.

Yeah lets question THAT GUY!

I kinda agree with Donovan usa played 3 mediocre games. The only good game was vs Portugal. And usa started attacking Belgium when we were down 2-0. So he has a point. I like how Concacaf is getting better by the years and hope it continues that way we will get better. Is very crucial for usa to qualify to all tournaments and Olympics before the WC. And not just qualify but perform very well.

Donovan is talking out of his ass again. He's a diva and he needs to shut up. This was our first World Cup with a new coach, new philosophy, new everything. And we were in the GoD. If we would've tried to go out there and play attractive football 100%, we would never have made it to the knockout round. And then people would've been calling for Jurgen's head. So do you want attractive football or results? You can't have both right away. Sure, in 2018 we might be able to play attractive football AND get results. But not right now. Jurgen has only been in charge 3 years. Takes an awful lot longer than that to change the way your national team plays after having played one way for decades.

In Jurgen we trust.

I suppose one way to jump start playing culture is to recruit more dual nationals. The one down side to that is you run the risk of developing cliques and factions within the group (a la France in 2010) as these players get older. I think it will be important to get Brooks and Green a few games with the U-23's to acclimate them to that player pool as well.

Zelalem and parker have been oft mentioned on here...another dual citizen to lure may be Kyle Scott, a midfielder who can play for England and the US. Currently in the Chelsea youth set-up, he has been recruited by other top squads over Europe.

To repeat what Yoda said, missing Olympics was a significant loss for our youth players.
I dont think he is going to make that mistake again.

Agree with you 100% on most of the narrative, except "all of us"

You should include Beckerman to that list as well, Klinsmann stated that if he was the power, KB would have been discovered at a very young age and would have been a Star by now.

Does anyone have solid news on Pelosi's injury return and how he's playing? LFC dude?

He's back. He played for 10 mins or so in the last U21 league game before playoffs then they decided there wasn't a point in risking due to the fact there were only a couple of games at most depending on how far they went in the playoffs and others were in form. He's back training full speed. Will be good to go come the start of the U21 season.

How far off is he from first team experiences? I remember he was once on their Europa League roster so people were hopeful he wasn't far away.

Far. People that thought he was close because he made the Europa roster don't realize how Brendan Rodgers works. He calls in different youth players all the time (almost all from the U21 and U18s) into Melwood (first team training facility), they train with the first team. Usually, if the player performs really well, he rewards them. Quite a few youth players made the 18 over the last two years, its rare that they even get time much less have an extended stay. Rodgers gave Jerome Sinclair a game two years ago in Europa early on in qualifying....youngest player to suit up at 16 (and 6 days) years old. Sinclair hasn't even made it consistently into the U21 side since. BR really likes Pelosi and his versatility but a lot will depend on how he comes back, as prior to the injury he was a top 5 player in the U21s. I think if he comes back to form, then he will probably be a U21 player all year, maybe he gets a short loan at the end of the year like Jordan Ibe. If not then the following year he will be loaned at for the season. That's typically how BR does it. It will most likely be two years before we found out if he makes it into Liverpool's first team.
