LB is a much higher priority.

But honestly, I'm still going to enjoy the hell out of this WC before I start thinking about 2018.

Idk about Zardes. I will do both though. Still gotta remember that we will have
Gold cup 2015, Copa America 2016, Gold Cup 2017, World cup 2018 not to mention we have Olympics

Requirements for 2018: players with ability to hold possession which goes well beyond player selection at this time. Hope our up and coming players put in the time when they were younger.

Now that Zardes is being played in his preferred spot(striker) the guy is performing really well. Has 3 goals on the season, and will probably be in the 10 to 12 range by the end of the season.

I think CDM is a spot of need. I think for 2018 we need new starters in the following positions.

CB-brooks has one spot. Who will play with? Cameron, besler, Omar aren't World Cup semi finalist caliber.
LB-should be chandler. We'll see.
CDM-a true destroyer will be key.
CAM- with Bradley dropping into jones's role we need a #10.
Wingers-Zusi and Bedoya aren't starter caliber guys.

At least 6 new starters. Guzan for Howard would be 7

I wouldn't be surprised to see Fabian on the left and Yedlin on the right in Copa 2016 or the 2018 World Cup. I also can't wait to see Nagbe in a USA shirt, I hope he has a coming out party in the next gold cup, I imagine he'll have his citizenship by then.

We need to try to get seeded for 2018. That should be a legitimate goal next cycle. We're going to continue to be in Groups of Death until we become a seeded team. With Copa America and the 2017 Confederations Cup there are serious opportunities to shoot up the FIFA rankings.

2016 is going to be amazing with Copa America and Rio Olympics.

I would like to suggest that Jermaine Jones gets awarded the Captain's armband for the Rio Olympics. He'll be 34 and would be aVeteran leader in the middle of the pitch. Plus Brazil apparently beings out the best in him.

Brooks, Green and Yedlin are all eligible for the Rio team. Would you rather see them play in the Copa America or Rio Olympics? For me if they are the undisputed starter then I'd prefer Copa America but if there is even decent competition at their spots then they should go to Rio.

I always forget about Nagbe and also Gedion Zelalem not to mention we will discover more players and use our own players in European team like Pelosi etc etc

I think one out of the three (Will Trapp, Danny Williams, Perry Kitchen) will establish themselves on the USMNT in the CDM role for 2018. Someone will need to step in the Beckerman role for 2018

I think the question will be. Is there gonna be a youth movement now? Jurgen is the perfect guy to get the youth talent ready for the next cycle. Do we start as soon as september friendlies?

so obviously no one can predict what we have for players next world cup... obviously no one knew about green, yedlin, brooks 4 years ago... sooo im just gonna say who i think from this 23 will be on the roster. Guzan (starter), Johnson, Brooks, Besler, Yedlin, Bradley, Green, Altidore. Thats 8 returning players with yedlin and green being wingers in my mind. Alitdore will be back. Whether he scores in the MLS or Europe I feel he will be back. I player that will be sick up top in 2018 i think is agudelo. If i could pick a lineup now based on what we have in four years it would look something like this.
Fabian Besler Brooks ?
yedlin bradley ? Green

I think that we will play 2 up top and one under the other. Maybe Boyd and Agudelo. But i say hopefully a young 20 year old comes out of the usa youth system. And lets hope Green is a world class star, and at the age of 23 he will take the world by storm

Yes I believe there will be a bit of a youth movement. I think this taught Klinsmann a lesson that Bedoya and Zusi just aren't up to snuff on the biggest stage.

That is the only criticism I have about Klinsmann in this WC. Sticking with Bedoya and Zusi far to long. Green, Diskerud, and even playing Chandler should have happened.

I would have loved to seen Chandler as a RM/RW.
Also you want to start now in september because it gives you that more options in the pool when 2018 comes around. Jurgen tried so many players to the lead up of this world cup but that was a point where there wasnt players like Gil, Rowe, Shipp, Mullins etc etc. He revived Eddied Johnson and Beasly and brought what at that time was available and that was Zusi, Besler, Gonzo who where making noise in MLS. Now you have a new clean cycle where you can start from the beginning. Only makes our pool bigger then 2014. You can add the players that make noise through the cycle.
