You have to say Germany will be big favorites. But in my actual bracket I always had Argentina going to the final.

I think it all depends on the avalabilty of Di Maria and the fitness of Sergio Aguero. If both of those guys can come out and play reasonably well I say Argentina. If both are less then 100 percent or in Di Marias case not able to suit up which I think is very likely considering the quick turnaround I think Argentina's offense will suffer. I say Germany 2-1. Argentina offense today was alright but alright is not going to cut it against Germany. Germany will be able to sit back absorb Argentinas attacks control possesion control the game and create chances. I would feel bad for Messi if Argentina doesnt win the quality of germany is so much higher then the one maradona went up against.

If i had to bet Germany would be #1. Saying that if Argentina play go out there and play it for what it is (putting aside strategies) a final then they can take it. Argentina is explosive on the counters and if Germany gets to careless pushing for a goal then things could favor Argentina massively. Especially because Germany will prob be the on with possession. Hopefully we see an amazing game

I'm still pissed off Wondolousy missed that kick vs. belgium. I talked to him at the Azerbaijan game and he got all nervous. I could just imagine that x100 on the field.

I think the 1990 German team is better than the current team. They made 2 fianls in a row along with Argentina.

God damn it Blaise why didnt you tell Klinsmann about it then lol. Instead of klinsmann yelling Jozy Jozy half the game he could have yelled Wondo Wondo and kept wondo focused haha. Cool that you meet Wondo though was it after the game or before the game lol.

Obviously anything can happen in a one off game and maybe Germany plays like Spain in 2010 and sits back and is ok with pks. But anyone who would pick Argentina to beat Germany right now is just naive. I havent seen the Vegas betting lines but Germany has to be huge favorites. They demolished a good Portugal team (Portugal's only loss, most points for any team not in knockout rounds) and demolished the hosts Brazil (their only loss). Argentina played 90' scoreless against Iran, & ~120' against Switzerland & Netherlands.

Again not saying Argentina cant win but it would have to be considered one of the biggest upsets in World Cup Finals history

Biggest upsets in World Cup Finals history is a stretch. Argentina is still a top five team in the world. Results are results even if they aren't all pretty. Germany should be favored butnot to that extent.

Germany is rolling right now.

They are younger, they are more rested. They have the better Goalkeeper.

The probable starting lineup for Germany is almost 2 years younger than the probable starting lineup for Argentina.

Germany - (Boateng, Hummels, Lahm, Howedes, Khedira, Kroos, Muller, Ozil, Schweinsteiger, Gotze) - 25.7

Argentina - (Zabaleta, Di Michelis, Garay, Rojo, Mascherano, Di Maria, Gago, Higuain, Messi, Aguero) - 27.5

Germany has all 11 of those players on Champions League teams and 10 of them were on teams that made it to the Quarterfinals. There are 7 of them from the same team (Bayern Munich). So a lot of familiarity there in playing together.

Argentina has 8 play in Champions League and only 3 of them made it to Quarterfinals. 5 of them are teammates (3 for Man City and 2 for Barcelona).

In the last 3 World Cups any team that is more than a year younger, has won (Spain and Brazil). Where Italy and France were both right about an average of 29 years old (OLD AS CRAP).

Also the last 3 champions all did better in the previous World Cup than the runner-up
2010 - Spain (round of 16 and lost to Runner-up in 2006), Netherlands (Round of 16 and lost to 4th place in 2006)
2006 - Italy (round of 16 and lost to 4th place in 2002), France (4th in Group Stage)
2002 - Brazil (Runner up in 1998), Germany (Quaterfinals lost to 3rd place in 1998)

This year Germany also has that on their side as they finished 3rd last year losing to eventual Champion Spain in Semi-Finals, where Argentina lost in Quarterfinals to Germany.

2 out of the last 3 world Cups the starting lineup that came in to the Finals having played the most minutes won (with the exception of France in 2006). This year Germany has played the most minutes. averaging 78 to Brazil's 72.

Almost everything points to Germany winning this game. Even though they have played more minutes than Argentina. I think they are the more rested team as they have had 24 hours extra rest and a much easier game this round.

2010 - Spain had 9 teammates, 9 champs league and 6 of those made it to QF
Netherlands had 4 teammates, 5 Champs league and 4 of those made it to QF

2006 - Italy had 8 teammates, 7 champs league and all 7 made it to QF
France had 5 teammates, 9 champs league and 5 made it to QF

2002 - Brazil had 0 teammates, 5 champs league and 3 made it to QF
Germany had 8 teammates, 8 champs league and 7 of them made it to QF

In regards to that it seems Brazil is an outlier. That team was just loaded and still had quite a few (3-4) starters playing in Brazil. Argentina has all but 1 playing in Europe and more playing on the same teams/Champs league. Don't think they are on that level of Brazil 2002.

Germany also has 8 of starters that played in 2010. Argentina has 6.

This is going to be an epic final. These are two incredibly well choreographed, tactical teams with the star power to really create some magic. I feel bad if you thought last night's game was boring, because you might just see something similar on Sunday. While disappointed since I was pulling for the Dutch, I thought yesterdays game was a great tactical display by both. Its really too bad it had to come down to PKs.

That onion article is brilliant!

Unrelated, can we consider Cameron's blunder against Portugal forgiven because of his attack on Lalas?

I just watched the highlight of Julian's green goal vs belgium

At 44 seconds, You can see bedoya sitting on the bench un-interested while Klinsmann, Guzan and beckerman are going bananas..... bedoya is a lil cry baby $%^&* jealous he doesn't have those skills.
