Yeah this Brasil team IMO shouldn't even made it past the round of 16.

Is anyone surprised? They looked mediocre all tournament. I couldn't be happier. Smug Brazilians, fans and players, assuming it was theirs to win.

I had a feeling Germany would blow out Brasil, but not in 29 minutes.

Put's that USA 1-0 loss to Germany in massive perspective.

I've seen this comment all over the internet and I'm not sure it really means anything. Third game of group stage when you're practically through doesn't equate to this game, this stage, this pressure, and we saw who Germany really is. I've been waiting for this team to show up and man did they ever. We did not play this German team, this was special.

Brazil was bad all tournament honestly if not for some poor refeering and a terrible cameroon side they might not have made it out of the group. They should have lost in the round of 16. Neymar was their offense without him they looked lost as to what to do. Fred might just be the worst player to ever start a semifinal for brazil. Maicon is washed up and nowhere near his prime. Marcelo can attack but he cant defend. Luiz is a cdm not a centerback he was out of position all game. Brazil continued to turn the ball over with both backs pushed up. Their player selection and tactics by scolari were awful. Fred, Maicon, Marcelo, Luiz, Dante, Fernadinho were awful just awful. Everyone else on the pitch were poor. Nobody on that pitch for Brazil today showed they belonged on the field. Thiago Silva and Neymar are the only players Brazil has simple as that once you take them away they are a slightly above average team.

It's a WC it doesn't matter. Germany absolutely wanted to beat the US bad. They wanted to humiliate us. That didn't happen. I think people need to take stock in the fact the US is clearly not as bad as what they want to believe in their minds.

If the US beats Germany in that last game Germany are playing Belgium in the round of 16 not Algeria. So I don't believe that Germany didn't put everything into winning that game.

The host nation, with an unbelievable amount of pressure from fans & media, playing without arguably their two best players, deserve better than "smug" & "pathetic".

I'd take a 7-1 Semifinal thrashing over a timid, round of 16 defeat to Belgium any day of the week.

Brazil gets to play another game while we hope Mix Diskerud gets off the bench in the fucking Tippeligaen.

Oh, give Brazil's NT's history of unpunished referee manipulation and dirty play for decades (especially when the have the skill and athleticism to not need this), they are true villians for any thinking fan, in the way that major sports powers often can be.

And their fans are smug, without doubt, and they take great joy at the diving and writhing Brazilian players duping referees.

They and the South Korea team are my two most hated teams, far above and way beyond El Tri and Los Ticos, who are really just rivals with some evil fans who throw piss-balloons. South Korea's delegation clearly found some way to buy off or influence 2 refs (who are now known crooks) against Italy and Spain.

Who's with me in despising The Brazil & South Korea NTs?!?!

It absolutely matters. Germany played us like they knew they still had 4 more games left to play. We lost 1-0, but were thoroughly outplayed. We also did not play that game like we had to score a goal. We played that game out knowing the result was going to get us through. Germany would of picked our pockets if we actually had to open up and attack them.

The US isn't as bad as Brazil was today, but they are nowhere near where Germany is right now. I'm not trying to bad mouth the US either, I just know we are not that close to them.

I was hoping for Germany to lose so we don't get a bunch of German-American players holding out for Germany just like Guiseppi Rossi did after Italy won the 2006 World Cup.

Brasil's backline today reminded me of the Gooch/Brooks pairing vs. Ukraine
