Asia and CONCACAF are very close.

Reassess this in about 2 weeks.

I think Panama could beat most CAF and Asia teams.

Teams they wouldn't beat from Asia- Japan, S Korea, Australia, Iran, Uzbekistan and some others that would go either way Qatar, Lebanon, Jordan, Oman, Iraq. There are a good bit more teams in Asia so it's hard to say compare as they do have some very bad teams like Laos, Myanmar, Macau, Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc etc.

well IF we some how beat Portugal that game vs Germany could be a lot of fun... with Yedlin and Green possibly starting....

Nope, because that would essentially be Jurgen saying "Yep, we surrender to Germany taking 1st place in the group." If we beat Portugal and Germany beats Ghana, we should absolutely play our best XI against Germany to see if we can pull off a shock win and take 1st in the group.

Most African players are idiots they have no idea how to play soccer. Without a doubt Concacaf will win a WC wayyy before an African team. Is been that way for a long time. And I know they beat some big teams here and there but the way they play soccer makes any soccer fan laugh and shake their heads.

I think panama would be about .500 against SK and Japan. They'd win about 60% vs Iran Australia and Uzbekistan and win 70-80% vs the others you mention. Costa Rica easily beat Uruguay in South America. Jordan got killed 5-0 before drawing vs some backups. Oceania is obviously the worst federation but they don't really count. I think it's clear uefa is #1, conmebol is #2. You can't argue up to now that concacaf is #3. As stated earlier there's a lot of World Cup left but other than Honduras the other 3 concacaf teams but themselves in a good position to advance. Ivory Coast looks like the only African team and doubtful any Asian teams advance.

Also the last three world cups which include one in Africa and none in the Americas, two different concacaf teams won their group. No African teams have won a group since '98. Winning a group shows more about a teams strength. Topping 1-2 euro teams and 1 South American team shows how good a team can be.

I have no idea how some of these Africans are in Europe their bot even good enough for Usl. Seriuosly they play like wild animals, fighting each other no idea how to score a goal. No teqnique. I think 0 African teams get out. Maybe Coast of ivory but i don't think so. Watching African teams is like watching comedy.

OK, I think we can all agree that it's CONMEBOL & Europe than a large drop off. And you have to say that CONCACAF is next, but it's a big drop off. Oceana clearly the worst, but they don't even really count. I'd have to say Asia is better than CAF. Just a bit of a down year for CAF. Take out the South Korea/Japan world cup and Asia is looking pretty weak. Japan, South Korea, and Australia just don't have the pedigree of Ghana and Ivory Coast over the last decade.

You can't really think of confederation comparisons in snapshot terms, based on results over the last few weeks. You need to add some interval of time into the discussion. And of course if you add populations into the discussion. . . One of you numbers geeks can give us some WC wins per capita. . .

This post has a smack of racism in it. "Wild animals"? The King of Hyperbole takes his throne once again.

No technique? So you're saying that Gervinho, Yaya Toure, Didier Drogba, Andre Ayew, Kevin Prince Boateng, Christian Atsu, etc. have no technique? They're just big bruisers that kick the ball around and hope it lands in the right spot? Enough.

Your an idiot if you think is a racist post individually their good but as a team they play like a bunch of dumb idiots and that is a true for the most part. They play like a bunch of dumb idiots with no idea what their doing and it includes Ghana. I mean lookat Cameroon players fighting each other like animals fighting to get the first meat when was the last time an African team won their group in a WC ?? I believe never..

@ dunlopp you are right their just big bruisers that's why they have them in Europe. In my opinion they should take 1 slot away from Africa and give it to Concacaf. But is comedy to watch them play is like watching pop warner girls soccer or something. They can get 50 chances on goal and maybe get a lucky goal.

And yes ill say it again African teams play like a bunch of Dumb animals trying to get the first meat or food. They don't play as a team and probably never will. I laugh and enjoy their comedy and idiocity on the field can't wait for what Brazil and Germany will do to them.

Asia is so overrated. Asia and CAF are the same level but they really arent that good in the international game. Mexico USA and even at some level Costa Rica have presented Concacaf with dignity. Saying all this I find it an absolute big joke that Africa has 5 spots for the world cup based on past performances and Conmebol has 4.5. Does that make any sense? Conmebol should have 5.5 and Africa 4 and that being generous to them because Concacaf performs better and gets 3.5. Saying that Concacaf is the 3rd best region in performance thanks to the USA and Mexico but there a drop off once you get to teams like Panama which justifies 3.5.
Still Conmebol being the hardest region to qualify getting 4.5 spots is criminal . Not to mention fifa stating that Asia should get more spots
I mean even a weak and mentally fragile mexican team beat japan (asian champ) in the confed cup i mean cmon lol
