I saw a few pages posting things on Matt Besler getting offers from England and Germany. No team names were mentioned, though....

He's had the offers. Just depends on if SKC wants to sell. He said himself he's looking at all the options

If he gets an offer from a German or English team and it looks conceivable that he could get minutes starting, I think he has to take it. He's not young by any means, and his stock will likely never be higher than it is now.

Besler would be dumb to stay in MLS. With Brooks coming up there's going to be a squeeze for the CB spot. If he goes and becomes a starter for a german or EPL team its his spot. If he struggles for minutes he can always come back to MLS in two years and reclaim his spot, and be better technically for it.

I'm fine with the move as long as he gets first team minutes.

Omar really needs to pick his allegiance, he cannot continue to play for multiple teams as if he was a T20 Cricket player.

I wonder if Team Fruity made him a DP?

I dont think Omar Gonzalez will be changing his agent like brooks hes getting a ton of endorsement deals. You know you have finally made it when you have joined the Fruity Pebbles team.

I love the comment after the article about "No more favors to the Yanks", as if the signing of one player who had plenty of options to go places after a great season in the Eredivisie and had one admittedly poor season with them means a middling club like Sunderland is in the business of bringing on Americans as "favors" because they pity our poor soccer and poor soccer culture. This also from a country whose ridiculous work permit requirements do us no favors. I suppose they took on Lynden Gooch in their academy as a favor too. It's nice/sad to know there are idiots lurking in every forum.

As a Fulham fan I am torn, but I want what's best for Besler and the U.S. team ultimately first and foremost, so I want him to see if he can make it in a top European league, favor or not.

The one comment on the page says it all...Fulham, maybe...they're in the Championship and will provide a nice cushion for him, and they'll probably be back in the PL next season.
