Wow, so it looks like the Cosmos are going to sign Raul. look I get that the guy is old, but for me NASL is going to destroy itself again. The Cosmos are the bullies in that market, and other NASL sides are going to feel like they need to spend to keep pace. The NASL is its own worst enemy.

I think NY Cosmos are going to be in MLS eventually. Maybe not under Garber because he is focused on expansion in the SE but their brand is valuable and their ownership group is too forward thinking to not have them in the league

3 NY teams in MLS? Don't know about that. Cosmos have also stated that they don't want o be tied down by any financial constraints.

If they do come into MLS, it won't be for another 10 or 15 years.

That's all rhetoric in my opinion. I'm with you on the time table, and I don't think it's coming anytime soon but IMO, who knows what the financial restrictions will be by then. The cap is going above 5 million during these CBA negotiations so if you were to say maybe $7-8 million just to be conservative, you have to think NY Cosmos wouldn't be "constrained" by that figure in the same way they would under the current structure.

Still three teams in New York isn't going to happen. The Cosmos needed to seal the deal with the MLS before Man City and the Yankees got involved. Now their ship has sailed, although they do have an outside chance of making a run in the US Open Cup and trying to secure a CCL spot following in the footsteps of what DC United pulled off last year.

Pellegrino Matarazzo and VfB Stuttgart got their Bundesliga campaign off the ground on Saturday with a win over Mainz.
