Shea reaggravated his foot injury; it's not serious. Hence why he hasn't been playing. Gotta love when people spin their own theory's without knowing the facts.

Right, he was very impressive his first few games..only a re-injury could be reasoning behind his recent absence. Dont know how people can come to conclusions..oh wait I do know..THEY DONT WATCH THE GAME OR KNOW SOCCER...

Why do people automatically assume they don't know soccer if they make one comment about that no one else likes? How in any way does that even make sense? Nonsense...

Shea was "very" impressive his first few games? I watch the game every single day and I could think of a lot of other words to describe his play with Stoke. Like very iffy or mediocre. He might have been very impressive to you by Brek.Shea standards but this is the BPL, if he wants to stick around he's going to need to be A LOT more "impressive". Its not like he came in and changed the game around(this is where you bring up the penalty he drew and I bring up how he didn't close down quick enough on a cross that turned into a goal)

Well I didn't know the facts.

If you thought Shea was better but hadn't been chosen to the Stoke bench in weeks, would you figure that maybe Pulis didn't rate him?

Hopefully Shea turns out. At times he has looked like he has a lot of potential. But that doesn't mean he will, and I won't be too surprised if he doesn't. Players don't turn out all the time, and I think there might be something just a little "off" with his game. We'll see what happens.

Sorry if I didn't scour every Stoke page to see about his injury condition (I did look at a few) but I don't think that means I "don't know soccer."

Nope I try to get the facts. It does no good to try to spin false theory's.

Aren't these boards for expressing our opinions on the circumstances unfolding on American players over seas? I don't think that dolcem was purposely looking to trash Shea by saying he thought TP didn't rate him. In this case it actually DID do some good to spin a "false theory" because after the "false theory" was spun, important information was put in this thread(that Shea reinjured his foot). It's just disappointing that that information wasn't posted on here before someone put their opinion up and got killed for it. I don't understand why people have to attack other people for their opinions (whether they be fully informed or not) these boards should give us a forum to express those opinions as well as allow us all to become more informed on the evnts happening in soccer abroad. A lot of people on here are really well informed about these topics which is why I was excited to join but lets all take a step off our high horse it's not like we are talking about something that others would consider us extremely intelligent for. Im sure I will get killed for this too but I'm trying to get to 10 posts so I dont have to enter this darn code after every message.

So according to this Shea has been 100% healthy for a while...

It's one thing to be condescending, but it's another to do so when you don't even back it up with sources.

That very interesting! The Stoke website said just yesterday he played in a reserve match and was coming back from foot surgery!? You would think Pulis would use everything he thinks could help in a relegation fight. They may say its not like Edu but if Shea was showing something you would think he would at least be in the 18 right? I guess every coach is different and that may be the case but doesn't sound great. I guess with only a few games left we can only wait for next season to see what's really going on. Thanks for putting that up.

According to the article he didn't want to try out a new player during a relegation dogfight...and knowing how conservative Pulis is I don't doubt it.

I really hope that if by the end of August he doesn't see Shea playing a lot he'll loan him out. We DESPERATELY need him getting PT this upcoming season. I think the Bundesliga would fit his style of play very well but the Eredevisie is so good at developing talent and he'd have a better chance of playing there. Ligue 1 wouldn't be bad either. Any of those would be better than the Prem, which isn't really a good developmental league (especially at a place like Stoke if you're an attacking midfielder).

Well according to reports I have seen from Stoke City reporters is that Shea hasn't been 100 percent healthy and in form hence why he has been playing more with the reserves.

Also Shea alluded to him not being fully healthy with his personal tweets.

Interesting news on Brek Shea:

http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2013/04/28...

I think, personally, although JK sometimes seems confusing, he is relatively pragmatic with his rules... I always though Shea was one of his chosen sons, always to get a look... But he is putting him out in the cold again (like he did during his drama at FCD) and right on him.

As of now I think the Stoke move was a poor choice... But we'll see...

Don't know if it's a poor choice yet. Stoke always said they bought Shea for next season with the hopes that he may have been healthy enough to contribute some the rest of this season.

It was always going to be difficult for Shea to get fit this season after foot surgery. And then when the foot was reaggravated a little, he and Stoke had to be more cautious. Then Stoke fell into the relegation scrap, so a lot of things conspired against Shea for this season.

Pulis has already said Shea will be in their first team plans at the start of next season.

Well I don't think its a poor choice as much for PT (that is apparent right now at least as he isn't playing; reasons or not) and I do expect that to change.

For me its about his development. Stoke? Attacking? Winger? IDK... And I worry about Pulis getting the axe...

All in all I think it was... brave.
