Great news. We need more kids playing at quality youth academies other in countries like Spain, Argentina, Holland, Germany, Brazil, France, Portugal, etc. As in not in England. In any of the top leagues other than England (where most of our youngsters abroad play).

Yomba debuted for Atletico Madrids reserve team this past week, Atletico Madrid B. He got the game winning assist.

Another player that I could see on that final US U-20 WC roster if they qualify that is.

They better qualify. But good for Yomba. We need more Americans in La Liga.

He is a talented youngster, but I dunno how long the boy is gonna be over there. Just reading his twitter the poor kid is suffering from some terrible homesickness, I don't think he is adjusting well to life abroad.

Yomba is on pace to make his debut for the first team next year.
Another player is gyau, is not a question if he will play with Dortmund but a matter of when i say the next 3-5 games he will debut maybe even get a start.

Give me a few reasons why Yomba will be playing for the first team for last year's CL finalists next year.

I bet you never thought gyau would be making the bench for dortmund. Don't under estimate players anything is possible. I know gyau will make his Bundesliga debut unless an injury happens, but don't want you to eat crow specially from a Hater Like you.

Do people still say "hater"? Is that a thing?

Anyways, there's a difference. Gyau is 22, and has been with European clubs for 3 years. Yomba is 18 and has been with a European club for 3 months. Apples and oranges, kid.

I will say this: it's remarkable how fast Yomba has climbed at Atletico Madrid in a couple of months. He started pre-season with the U-19's, and now he is playing with the reserves.

Also the coaching staff seems to be impressed with him.

I have no idea if he will play with the first team, but it seems his trajectory is the first team in the next couple of years.

If he stays and and doesnt leave like stone88 is stating, homesickness then he can be a spontaneous player in and out the Atletico Madrid bench next season but big if depending on the strikers and all. Typically Atletico doesnt buy top strikers they have produced them from their academy like torres, Aguero Costa. Who knows if the Mexican Raul Jimenez continues to struggle than he can replace him on the bench next season. Why not? But he has to continue doing big things.

It's so hard to predict what athletico will look like next year. Let's say they have an early UCL exit, and fall well behind barca and real in la liga and don't win copa. Then they might be pressured to make some splashes to appease the fans and media.

Now if they make another run at ucl(QF or later) and win some silverware the fans would be more apt to not call for some big transfers.

Simeone like Klopp isnt afraid of giving youth chances and Atletico like Dortmund buy for the most time unproven players and makes them better. Like Aubamayan or Immobile for BVB or Manzukic and Jimenez for Atletico. So it gives youth fighting chance still unlike if they were to buy Luis SUarez or w.e

Yomba wont be see PT with first team or making the bench for another couple years..don't start the hype.

I am a big Yomba fan and was ecstatic when I heard he was leaving for A. Madrid, I have seen him play and he has a ton of RAW talent.. Yes he was having a very hard time adjusting, but he recently made a visit home and seems to be ok in Spain now. He seems to be producing well at A. Madrid, hope Ramos gives him a look.

U19s and Reserves aren't that big of a difference in terms of a young player coming up. Most top talented youngsters will go from the u19s to the first team.. Torres..Aguero..Koke..Oliver Torres.
