Novakovich scored a cracker of a hat trick this past weekend for Readings U-21's against Watfords U-21's. He scored with his left foot, his right foot, and his head. Very much could be in the USMNT striker conversation in a few years time. He might be closer to Readings first team than previously thought.

Also it looks like Ramos has three very good options at striker for the U-20's:

Novakovich: Who I have as the front runner to be the starter.

Gooch: Seems to play any position really well. I have no idea exactly where Ramos see's him going forward. I still think he would be best suited as a wide FWD, and I think more than likely that will be the position he plays at the senior level.

Spencer: Big, Agile, and a very good 18 yard box finisher.

He defiantly will be a big fwd for the u20s, still think Spencer will be the starter. But I think Ben is still injured so don't know if he will come back strong enough, Andrija could easily be the starter.

I do agree Gooch is better out wide fwd, because he cuts in and shoots really well. But he can perform anywhere.

This cycles U-20 team is looking very well rounded and deep, with good prospects all over the field. Hopefully these guys continue to perform and make a strong statement in the qualification tournament and in the U-20 WC.
The top performers will hopefully be given chances at the U-23 Olympic team as well.
We may not have many Sr. players needing to be replaced....but having a stable of young, energetic guys nipping at their heels will hopefully insure we get the best of the Full National Team....

Sr. National Team players to Replace:
Howard, Dempsey, Jones, Beasley, Beckerman, Davis, Wondo, EJ, & Goodson. Others who will be on the bubble include...Cameron, Zusi, & Bedoya. That's 12 players who were either on the 2014 WC Team or had significant contributions in the Hex Qualification for 2014. We should have enough quality coming through the ranks to replace them, but it never hurts to have more.

IMO, I really don't want to see bedoya called up ever again and zusi is not too far off either

Both will be called up and often, at least through the Gold Cup. It will take that long for JK and his staff to identify and integrate replacements. None of the potential options at wide midfielders are better options at this time.
Green, Gyau, Arriola, Gall, Wood, Gil, Gatt, etc....are not experienced enough to be starters at this point and will need at least a year to grow into the position.
Shea can't get out of his own way & needs a loan/transfer to a club/league where he'll actually play. Agudelo needs a club. Donovan ended his international career with his comments about the coach after the WC. Davis is worse than Zusi or Bedoya. Parker isn't with the US Team (yet).
The USMNT is still very thin at winger, wide forward, or attacking Mids. Until the younger players step up their games and get 70+ minutes week in week out for their clubs we'll have to continue to use what we've got....Zusi & Bedoya.

Andrija has bee scoring left and right this season, plus add two pro appearances. He has to be on the U20 WC team no question.

I'd better not see maki tall and not his name on that final roster...

OH MY GOD is that red team terrible.

I did not expect to see that. Is this a game, or did they rent the red guys to practice on?

They look like a U14 ayso team.

Thank you for posting this, even if it wasn't your intent to amuse me in this way.

Scored again yesterday. If Ramos leaves this kid off of the U-20 WC team, then I question him as a talent evaluator. Remember he left off numerous talented players for the 2013 U-20 WC team among them Jordan Morris.

I would too. Someone who is in great form scoring every week at a decent level has to be going. Novakovich is the only one I see doing that, him being are only big target option makes him even more of a lock for me.

Possible players that could play forward position:
Rubin, Novakovich, Jaimeson, Pfeffer, Tall, Gooch

The only one I don't see making final roster is Tall.. Let's hope.

Yomba is having surgery, likely will miss WC..

Novakovich scored a goal today for Readings u21 team in a win against Liverpools u21. Hopefully Andrija will see more first team minutes for Reading as the season progresses.

I was thinking a loan to league one or two.

Yeah, Reading's keeper played out his mind and our #2 in his debut was very very poor. Both goals conceded should have be stopped. One was off a bundled save off a corner and it started pinballing and eventually went in. The Novakovich goal was meh, he got himself into good position but Firth got beat on his near post which is a no no.

He shouldnt be looking for a loan to a lower league. At his age he should be getting consistent minutes in the championship if he has any hope of being a decent epl starter
