Possible US U-20 striker Andrija Novakovich has signed a pro deal with Reading FC in the English Championship.

Looks like Danny Williams will have another yank with him at Reading hopefully he mentors him well.

Kid has a lot of talent. Big, strong, good speed, intelligent, and can be very clinical with his goal scoring. Definitely a striker to keep on eye on as the USMNT heads into the 2018 WC cycle.

This move more than likely puts him in contention to be the main man for Ramos and the U-20's at striker.

Good luck to him. Hopefully he can break into the first team next season.

Our u-20 team will have two target forwards. Novakovich and Spencer. We were sorely in need of target forwards last cycle, sure we have McBean but he is mediocre at best. Proud of the kid, wish him the best of luck with reading FC. Looks like Danny Williams will have a buddy here.

Can't say this move surprised me, always thought Andrija would head to Europe sooner or later. He will also join American Aleks Gogic a GK for the u18s there, previously with Red Bulls Academy.

It also looks like Dembakwi Yomba is headed to Atletico Madrid, but haven't got conformation yet. Hearing he already signed.

Novakovich and Yomba should be looking to get called to the u20s, if moves go well.

What's funny is that the new US youth teams are producing players this used to struggle at producing (wingers, number 10s)

The positions that this country used be decent at producing, center forwards, have struggled with recent youth teams.

If Andrija does well, he will climb the ladder within the US U20 quickly.

The United States could use another young Brian McBride.

I suppose he is a dual national since he is in England already, do we have to worry about the second nation?

If he gets ignored by the US and not called up, I would say yes. But doubt that happens, he is a target forward we need. He is dual with Serbia I believe.

Andrija is serbian and lives in a Serbian heavy community in Milwaukee. Spent his early club years playing for United Serbians FC. He is a sup porter of both the US and Serbian national team

I'd say this is a sign of progress.

Remind me who on the U-20 USYNT is a pure wide sprint+cross into box winger? I don't think we have much of that.

Game is going away from that anyway. But Paul Arriola is the closest one to that.

Paul Arriola, Julian Green, Rubio Rubin, Zack Peffer, Armando Moreno, Dembwaki Yomba, Alan Winn, and Ahinga Selemani all fit.

I don't know about Rubio Rubin and Pfeffer as that kind of winger...are you sure about that?

Meh Julian Green, Rubio Rubin, Amando Moreno, and Zack Pfeffer are more wide attacking middies, not wingers. Actually Rubio Rubin has been playing the lone striker role quite a bit for both the U-18's and U-20's.

Selemani is more of a CF, and Yomba prefers CF as well but can play as a wide forward.

Paul Arriola is the closest as well as Alan Winn.

Rubio dribbles in from the wing as do Bailey and Gall, plus Gall is better at the CAM role..going be a good fight for that role between him and Flores.

But I'd say Gooch would probably be close to that kind of wide option as well.

The young soccer careers of Rubio Rubin and Brady Scott are headed in completely opposite directions.
