Caleb Stanko is on the bench today for Freiburg. It is possible that he will make his Bundesliga debut.

I heard he is also closing in on signing a first team contract.

I know everyone is excited over dual nationals who develop their game entirely outside the USA but it is refreshing to see an American born and raised player make it.

Not to say Caleb isn't a dual national - he is and holds a Polish passport. But he developed his game in the United States.

Unfortunate he didn't see the field, especially being up by 3 at one point. Glad to see he's made the bench though.

He will definitely be one of their top players next season. I think they will finish in the top 10 next year.

You can't say a prospect will be a top player on a pro team. It's extremely rare for a prospect to be a top player in a club their first year.

There is no evidence to suggest he will be a 90 minute player most of the season. Even veterans on a team don't have that kind of guarantee, much less a prospect.

You literally say this about everyone. You said that if Boyd were to go back to Dortmund, he would be a key player. That is false. Saying that Caleb will be a key player next year for them is also false. Would I like that to happen? Of course. But it won't.

Thats if he has a breakout WC year no doubt Dortmund would want him back and i believe he will be a key player for their club not their top fwd but will make an impact. I guess we will have to wait to see how Caleb does next season. They finished 14th last year im sure they will make some changes to their roster/lineup and one of them will be Caleb.

Not playing to being a top player going 90 the following year? You hit the nail on the head like always admsghs27.

Why not ? Brooks was on Hertha's 2nd team the year before and became a 90 min player for the most part of the season, and would of been all season if it wasn't for injuries/discipline. I'm sure midway trough the season he will be starting. Stanko was the captain for their 2nd team and one of their best players, Doubt he would of gotten a 3 year contract if he wasn't in their plans.

People are given 3 year contracts all the time and just end up being 20 minute subs here and there.

He will be apart of the first team next year, but not as a starter.
