Goodson is better than Gonzo. Totality of the last 16 months of USMNT appearances. Copes with pressure better (underrated quality).

I agree with this even more after watching the Tijuana match.

Yeah I would say Goodson is a bit more composed on the ball compared to Gonzo. Wouldn't at all be surprised to see Goodson starting in the WC.

Cam and Edu are better CBs than Goodson, Gonzo, and Besler.

Based on one game bjelks. You have no proof of consistency for either at CB, shouldn't believe it so easily.

Still hope for Chandler. He is set to return early form his injury and start training by the first week of April. He could still see a few games in the Bundesliga, and even if he doesn't play a game and just trains with Nurnberg the rest of the season, Klinsmann may still call him into that May camp to fully evaluate him.

Looks like Timmy may still be in the mix for the WC.

Edu better CB than Goodson and Besler? Just don't see how that's anywhere near a vaild statement.

So chandler is gonna Resume Training very soon. what are the odds the coach changes his mind and chandler starts playing first team football in a week or 2. I think is very possible. If he can get a month of first team football before seasons end in May then he should get a call up for the last couple of friendlies.

Even if Chandler is just training and only playing reserve team soccer until May there is strong possibility he will be full recovered by the time the May camp comes around. With the dearth of talented and experienced RB's right now, I think it is highly probable that we see Timmy Chandler called up for the May camp. And then it's up to him to oust Evans during that camp.

It's very unlikely that Chandler is part of any pre World Cup camp

I have proof that Goodson and Gonzo have been sorry their whole careers.
We already know that they're going to be sorry. What do we have to lose lol?

Goodson has been FANTASTIC for the USMNT in the last 16 months.

Holding out hope that players carrying a injury will heal just in time for the WC has a miserable track record

Holden in 2010 - wasn't close to 100% and had little impact
Gooch in 2010 - disaster
Davies in 2010 - people went nuts when Bob didn't select him
JOB in 2006 - waste of a spot

The list goes on and on

Then you add in a guy with a sketchy history with the national team. He played in friendlies but never showed up for big games. Then he came back under Klinsmann and then left the team again citing lack of commitment. Then he came back again (only with huge media hype) and laid a giant egg in Honduras.

His USMNT teammates won't even talk about him in interviews these days.

Now all of a sudden after what will be a 15 month absence from the rocky road above he is going to come back for a World Cup camp when he is just returning from a serious injury?

I don't see it.

Uh, can you say, apples-and-oranges? JOB could barely walk. Everyone knew that. Everyone also knew he had the best ball skills of anyone on the USMNT at the time.

No, no, we actually have depth now so there's very little chance of any of those fiascos happening.

The better analogy would be if Ronaldo or Messi were American today and they got injured. . .

Did you just compare Chandler to Ronaldo and Messi?
