I know many people have been claiming that Chandler would have time to come back and prove himself before the end of the season.

Not anymore

FC Nurnberg's Gertjan Verbeek says Timothy Chandler likely won't play again this season

Disappointing, but he's got plenty of time ahead of him.

Guess this means that Evans has locked that second RB spot in Brazil down if Lichaj still can't get a look in...

I believe Lichaj is out for the remainder of the season. Its going to be tough for him.

Looks like Yedlin has a lot to play for.

Injuries have really killed us this World Cup.

Chandler wasn't on the plane anyway. This doesn't impact Jurgen's plans at all.

Lets be real, the RB depth chart goes like this

1-Cameron
2-Evans
3-Parkhurst

Not Yedlin. Not Lichaj. Those 3 are going to Brazil.

Basically agree. But the addition of Green might put a dotted line into the 1 spot for FJ also.

Fabian Johnson is in the clear. Unless he gets injured, he will absolutely be in Brazil.

As will Beasley.

Just because Green chose the USMNT, doesn't mean that he will be in Brazil. Lets remember, the kid is 18, not playing any first team football, and we have yet to truly see him play against any top rate competition.

We need Beas for his speed, he's going to Brazil. After this last match, Castillo is out...Parkhurst will probably play one game at each fullback position during the group stage, but I'm not sure if he'll start any.

Wrong. Green will be in Brazil BECAUSE he chose the US.

And I meant FJ was dotted line into #1 spot for RB. Of course FJ is on the plane. And I fully expect FJ to start in Brazil, although I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't. Now I would be a little surprised if Green starts. Just saying the addition of Green MAY make things a little more interesting around LB, LMid, & RB and Beas, FJ, & Landon, etc. And you could even extend the thinking out. Still plenty of moving parts around people & positions.

I'm hoping that Green is as good as I think he is. If so, it'd change everything:
----Altidore-----
------Dempsey---
Green--------Donovan
----Bradley-Jones--
FJ-Besler--Gonzo-Cameron
------Howard-----

I wouldnt mind this with one change. Id rather see Brooks then Omar. And before people rail about how bad Brooks was against Ukraine remember he was in betwen Castillo and Gooch. Not exactly a lot of help. Other option would be if Chandler came back (according to BShredder its unlikely) then he could play RB with Cameron in the middle.

Also Id keep an eye out on the AJ vs Jozy battle for striker. With Fletcher out this is probably Jozy's last chance to get any kind of goals scored in the near future. If he finishes the year on the bench then it'll be hard to start him over Aron

Agree with everything you said. I just know that JK sees Omar as a starter next to Besler. My first option to pair him is Cameron but like you said, Chandler is out. Our predicament at the moment is who is the lesser of two evils, Gonzo or Beasley? Its this:

Beasley-Besler-Cameron-Johnson

vs. this:

Johnson-Besler-Gonzo-Cameron

I'm torn personally.

Goodson is better than Gonzo. Totality of the last 16 months of USMNT appearances. Copes with pressure better (underrated quality).
