Michael Parkhurst has returned to MLS and by all accounts had a good first game. Previously Klinsmann has played him at RB and LB, and he has looked decent in those positions. However, back in the day when he was a CB, he was so composed and good with the ball. I would like to put his name back in the CB player pool, as I think he is every bit the player that Goodson and Gonzalez are at CB, not to mention Orozco. Does anyone else agree? Disagree? (I heard Berhalter has him playing CB for Columbus as well).

If Parkhurst is taken to the WC, it will be cover for the entire backline. He can play all positions.

If I'm making the depth chart he's gotta be the 1st fullback off the bench at either position given our injury situation.

Well he will most likely start vs Mexico at lb. If has a good performance and shows well inthe rest of the friendlies he won't just be going to the wc but will be the first option of the bench.

I would venture to say that Beasley will be starting at LB against Mexico.

I'd take Parkhurst over Evans any day.

At this point you have to take Parkhurst for his versatility. That is so vital in the world cup especially for our shaky defense. All Parkhurst has to do is start and play 90 which should be a given and play well captain the Crew to a play off spot.

I would like to see him play over Evans as second RB behind Cam, but JK seems to have a fondness for Brad.

I do agree that besides Cameron he's the most versatile utility defender we have, and should probably get that last spot on defense.

Question really is Parkhurst over Castillo, which is the real question. Lichaj is out too essentially.

Definitely Parkhurst over Castillo. The Ukraine game showed Castillo isn't ready. Parkhurst has more experience and is more versatile. I'd take those two qualities any day. And yes I'd say Lichaj doesn't have enough time to impress.

Comes down to how many defenders JK wants to take. Could count Fabian as a defender and have one less spot for someone like Parkhurst. It's looking like 7 or 8 spots for defenders.

Is it even a question at this point? After the Ukraine match there's no way Castillo makes it anywhere near Brazil.

Not question for me. Question for Jurgen. I would never take Castillo as LB, not now, not last year, not two years ago.

After seeing his last performance there for us, I can't imagine anyone wants him to be on the plane.
