What's your take on Shea's loan being cut? His his WC hopes dashed? If he wasn't American would club have treated him different, suspension or fine/?

I think, if he doesn't feature for Stoke this WC is out of reach especially since I think he was on bubble anyway.

I do think if he wasn't American he would have been treated different.

I don't agree that he's been unfairly treated because he's American. He had some decent performances but didn't do anything significant in his time at barnsley and he caused a negative stir. I think Barnsley would have cut ties with an English player in the same position, no problem.

As for his WC chances, this definitely hurts him in the sense that he may have played his last competitive match this season but I still think he makes our 30 man roster as he brings a unique skill set to our player pool.

I think that Shea is a 1v1 speed merchant right now. Next cycle, if he grows up and starts beating people towards his right when it's given to him, he could do some real damage. At present, all you do to defend him is push him on to his right foot. He's awful that way.

What a dumbass. I'm amazed that Klinsy has continued to give him chance when he hasn't shown anything for club (for, what, about 2 years now?) or country (I know people will disagree w/ me, but I think he's look like shit for the USMNT for the last 2 years also).

Hard to see him on the way to the WC when I suspect he'll rarely see the field for the next 3 months, although at this point I wouldn't be surprised if Klinsy takes him.

Shea should go to the World Cup, he can successfully provide a 20 minute spark. But that's all.

The wig out was unfortunate, but I don't think it affects his chances of going one bit. There are no angels at the WC...If he does make it, JK will remind him how important on field discipline is and leave it at that.

From the little I've heard of the incident, it seems as though Brek as coming to the aid of a teammate when the gesture was allegedly made.

I can't say it's too big of a deal, he got some fitness back and with going back to Stoke (though I hear a number of other Championship clubs are interested in a loan) he'll be training with better players, so his form should come back quicker.

If he can break into the 18 because of this, it will be a blessing in disguise.

I could give a crap about the "attitude" part of it. Just saying it hurts his chances of playing first team football.

We really could have used Nagbe for this World Cup as opposed to having him starting in 2015 (ideally). We realllyyyyy could have used him.

Why?

Conor O'Brien could finally make his Austrian debut for Wiener Neustadt on Saturday.
