I'm happy for the MLS that it's growing but I'll watch the games on TV until DC United either gets their SSS or puts out a product that is worthy of my money.

The Washington Wizards have been horrible for the past several years and unless they were playing a team like the Heat I could always get a ticket for $10 (worst seats in the arena but still). I cannot find DC United tickets for less than $25 despite the fact that they are also horrible.

Totally agree. Had season tickets with a group of guys from work the past 2 years, but will scale back to just a couple of games this year. RFK is depressing even in good times, and the times are not so good. SSS is desperately needed. Lived here for almost a decade, hope I'm here long enough to see a SSS hosting USMNT games in the nation's capital.

I would say 50 percent chance Ben Olson gets fired during the season?

I agree i just have a bad feeling that DC is a coffin waiting for the nail and that nail is Eddie Johnson.
Only saw first half of Crew vs Dc but yea awful. Who knows it takes time for that team to gel.

We definitely need to get out stuff together but EJ isn't a problem starter.

It's not considered a premier sport because the league itself isn't among one of the top leagues in the world. The MLS has a huge inconsistency in viewership, which prevents the leagues from hitting a strong exponential growth in the USA. The amount of views the MLS already gets is lack luster compared to Football, Basketball, Baseball, and even hockey. I personally believe the MLS would never be a top 3 league in the USA because the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL have solidified themselves as the premier leagues in the USA.

Aside from the beating Galaxy got they had over 86 k fans which I doubt an NFL game wi surpass that this season. Plus it was on a weekday at 11 pm E. If it was on a weekend say Saturday at 7 pm pacific time no doubt more than 90k would of gone.

When i first saw the title on the thread i knew exactly what you meant. I was pissed when they said he would be the first gay athlete in 4 Major sports here I cant believe they don't consider soccer a major sport here. I mean i get baseball, basketball, football. But hockey doesn't even have tv deals here rarely they show their games on nbc. Also mls has a higher attendance than the nba, nhl. and soon will probably surpass mlb. I think soccer overall here in the USA is more popular than baseball, and hockey.

The problem with the MLS is the inconsistency in not only attendence, but viewership. The amount of viewership the MLS gets is already lack luster when compared to the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL. The problem with the MLS is that it isnt even a strong league when compared to leagues aroud the world and there is a diversified pool of sports in the USA. To say that the MLS is bigger than MLB and NHL at this point is preposterous. There is no evidence that supports your statement. The link i posted shows the inconsistency of the MLS.

Attendence has nothing to do with the exponential growth of soccer. It's all about the viewership and the amount of viewership the MLS recieves isn't no where near the NHL and NBA.

So let me get this straight, you using one article instead of a trend to support your 'theory'? You wouldn't have survived my college stats class with that. I get you like the original big 4 but it doesn't hold water anymore.

Just an FYI, you're not doing yourself any favors by making obviously non-researched conclusions and having your name being AmericanFootball and batting against a soccer forum. But I think that was kind of your point from the get go. Enjoy whatever it is you hope to gain from posting here.

Their is plenty of arguments that support my hypothesis. I simply mentioned 1 article that is detrimental to the consistency of the MLS. I just didn't want to fill the page with several articles that would not only be a waste of my time but yours as well. But there is no denying that the MLS lacks consistency and I'm sorry you are to ignorant to realize that.

My name has nothing to do with my statement. I'm sorry I may have offended you some how, but how are my statistics fallacies? I'm simply stating facts that i have done an extensive amount of research on. To say that the MLS is bigger than the 4 premier leagues in the USA is ridiculous. I've been following soccer for many years and I simply don't see the MLS ever being a premier league in the USA.

Lol I can't stop laughing because you aren't looking at the big picture. You take one stat and make it true. Wow Portland vs. KC and ratings are down. Genius. You are a moron who is on here spouting something that everyone has heard but yet MLS continues to grow. Good for you taking other ideas and making them your own with no facts nothing but one article. Just please go back to ESPN.com or wherever you came from.
