I wouldn't have a problem if it was every 2 years. But I like it every 4 years.

Perhaps every 3 years. Same with Continental championships and Qualifying.

So 2015 would be Concacaf Champ
2016 would be WC Qualifying
2017 would be World Cup
2018 Concacaf Champ
2019 WCQ
2020 World Cup.

Never happen though. UEFA, ConMebol would never go for it. their continental championships are huge money-makers too and big deals.

I think World Cup Qualifying should be more streamlined and not so drawn out. We have 3 years until the World Cup and some confederations have already started qualifying and some teams have been eliminated already. Perhaps make it where no confederation can start WCQ until 2 years out.

What I'd like to see from Concacaf and Conmebol. The year after the World Cup they each have their confederation Championship. Then 2 years after that you have the preliminary matches for the WCQ (concacaf), as well as an America's Cup (Conmebol and Concacaf). 1 year out you do the bulk of the WCQ and Christmas break you finish the WCQ.

Every Summer you have something meaningful to look forward too.

I could go for that as well. I just hate it takes so long for the worlds biggest event.

I want the WC every four years and regional competition every four years occurring two years later. The European model is perfect as it stood before they implemented this Euro tournament on Friendly dates nonsense.

I want that regional competition to be an Americas tournament. I don't have a strong preference as to whether Concacaf and Conmebol merge into one or just do a major joint tournament every four years. If it's the latter then this cycle is the poster child with regional Gold Cup and Copa America this year, a joint tournament next year, WCQ/Confederations Cup the year after and then the World Cup.

I am sure that the US investigation will turn up evidence of bribes. It looks like both Russia and Qatar may have their world cups stripped.

I think this would be ideal from a soccer perspective but the CONCACAF/CONMEBOL tournament would have to be expanded to give the CONCACAF minnows an opportunity to compete in the competition as well. We have 41 members compared to 12 in CONMEBOL, and I think they are worried that in a smaller tournament they would never qualify.

I hope they always leave the World Cup every four years. It makes every game so important as when you get the golden age team(Belgium) you have to make it count or you risk turning into a team like Serbia and it looks like Bosnia. My ideal set up is get rid of gold cup and make copa the only regional tourney for the Americas. A cycle would be as follows:

Fall 2014-prelim copa qualifying for Caribbean nations
2015- finish copa qualifying (sa has mini qualifying for bottom 4 or 5 teams, na has all non Mexico, usa teams get the 4 qualifiers)
Fall 2015- prelim wcq
2016 wcq and copa
2017-hex and final conmebol qualifying
2018 World Cup
