Id say Bradley Jones, Others would probably prefer Bradley Klesjtan or Diskerud.

Agreed, Beckerman is solid but doesn't bring any real danger to the attack...he's my first alternate this go around.

My opinion is Cameron and Bradley. Klinsmann's opinion is Jones and Bradley.

Mix, Kljestan, and DWill as backups/tactic changes.

Beckerman will look like a fish out of water in Brazil, im just hoping Klinsmann sees that before its too late.

bradley is a lock.
jones needs to demonstrate he is a better option than
- kljestan, williams, edu

just cant see diskerud starting in june

assume jones will start in march but really hope he does not play more than 45 mins. GOT to take a look at another combo

Putting Beckerman on the field is admitting you are hoping for a 0-0 tie. In the games he's played against real competition (ie not the gold cup) our team looks awful when hes in there

Not a big fan of Jones, but it's his spot to lose alongside Bradley.

If we need a sub, it depends on the circumstances. Beckerman for me if we need to be conservative, Mix if we need to inject some creativity. If we need to replace Jones or Bradley from the start, that's a tough call. Sacha is the most plug and play in the system, but we can switch to more of a defined holding/attacking pair with Cam or Beckerman sitting in front of the back four if Jones isn't available. If Bradley is out, it really gets tough.

Beckerman is WAY to slow to go against Ghana, Portugal and Germany for a full game. I think he's a quality player, but he'll have to sit SO deep and just try to plug the field. If he moves up the pitch at all to pressure the ball, top teams will blow by him.

Bradley and Jones are the two right now. I suspect Mix may be given a shot, though. Easy to see Bradley and/or Jones picking up a yellow against Ghana (especially Jones). I think Bradley continues to start even with a yellow, but it would not surprise me if JK sits Jones against Portugal to protect him from a second yellow going into the game against Germany.

No US player in Brazil will know the Bundesliga (and the German side) better than Jones. He's a must start against Germany, IMO.

I think the overriding theme of these replies indicates we really do not have a rock solid offensive CM option right now. Here is hoping that Holden gets healthly or that they move Cameron into a D Center mid role and make Mr. Bradley the O - CM. Just not a fan of Jones and his penchant for emotional tackles that result in cards.

I disagree, the box-to-box/more offense oriented CM is what we have in abundance, the CDM option is woefully short of depth. Bradley has been the de facto forward of the 2 CMs whenever he is on the pitch, both Mixx and Sacha push forward when playing and Beckerman is pure box-to-box. Jones, Edu and Cam are the only legit options we have there, and I prefer to keep Cam in the backline.

Anyone else think Brad Evans could possibly be a functional backup for Bradley or Jones?

Guess I am just not in love with the players you are talking about. I do not see Beckerman creating much for anyone else...a bunch of destroyers in the middle with not a lot of creativity. I guess the bigger issue is will the coach go with one of the creative guys like Mix or will he stick with Jones Bradley. For the record...love Bradley...just not Jones. Having been a college O-CM...it just feels like we need a Point Guard to run the offense. They keep trying to slide outside mids into the middle...and honestly that is one of the hardest transitions to make in soccer.

Makes a lot more sense than putting him in at RB...
