Since its that time of year where any injury can be extra devastating I thought this should be a thread to keep track of people that have a realistic shot of going to Brazil and if they pick up serious injuries. We have our first major injury.

Fabian Johnson broke his hand this weekend. In most other sports a broken hand is a 4-6 week injury. He should be able to return to form in time to play Ukraine in march, never mind make the world cup. This does probably eliminate the possiblity of a transfer to during this window however and hopefully he doesnt lose his spot to Toljan or someone else in the meantime

From what I have heard he hasn't really been playing all that well at LB. Given the other options we have at winger, would he really be in contention for a starting spot at the World Cup? I've never really been impressed with him when he's played on the wing but maybe y'all have seen something I haven't. With how well Bedoya has been doing at Nantes, as well as Zusi's solid showings on the right I could see Lando being pushed to the left (which I would be a fan of as he would be able to cut in and curl screamers in at the edge of the box) with Dempsey in the middle. Thoughts?

Beasley apparently went down yesterday but played through it. Doesn't sound too serious but I didn't see Puebla's game.

I always fear when Fabian Johnson gets injured he is so injury prone. How many times last years did he get injured? How has he done at LM/LW ? I thought he played that position in his team which is why we moved him up the field for national team? Personally I think he has being great for us in that position but given the lack of LB options he would go there.

Fabian is one of our most important players. Bad news if he loses form upon his return from injury.

Our offense only started clicking when he moved up to LM position. He'd be a huge loss for us

Fabian is very important to our success. Along with Zusi and Donovan he can cross in some wonderful passes. He needs to heal up and be ready for the March friendly.

I also think Castillo should be tried out there because he's been exceptional when he's been put up top.

Injuries happen to all teams prior to the wc. Some are small, others serious. I have a bad feeling werw gonna get a tough injury to one of our key players before the wc. I hope it doesnt happen but every wc we lose at least one important player.

why out so long with broken hand? was it his arm where cast would cover elbow?

Three players we cannot lose, F. Johnson, Bradley and Donovan. I think we have depth to cover other areas.

Good news, Klinsmann had a talk with Fabian Johnson. Fabian got his surgery today and can play in a few more days. Also Jones might land with a European team in four days than in MLS.

Fabian as a player we can't lose? Hmm. Good player, but the USMNT is more than capable without Fabian.

I'm not so sure he's THAT dispensable; he's been very influential for us in important games, especially given our lack of talented wingers.

This team can survive and probably perform well without him, though.

The US is a better team with Fabian starting.
