He'll probably drop way low in the pecking order because of AJ, Boyd, Rubin, Morris, and Zardes.. That's if they keep form and swagudelo finds a club. Then if jk still favors wood and wondork.. He didn't it to himself with his ego, plus he is ok, not that great. IMO, I prefer AJ, Boyd Rubin or Zardes before him.

Yep, one way to shoot oneself in the foot. Knucklehead.

It's 2015 in Australia. What will it take for Juan to understand he is a reckless youth? I don't want to give up on the kid.

I think Agudelo needs to be called into january camp to inflate his head a bit more!

No seriously, I can't think of who the forwards will be in camp cupcake?

I think there needs to be an Ego Rehab center in US Soccer headquarters. Once a player rechristens himself "swag"-anything, it's time to fly him to the Freddy Adu Ego Rehab center. Yoga, chakras, air deflation, helium targeted antibody therapy, and a swift kick in the arse.

There is a running series of reports on the website "AmericanSoccerNow" that has a list of players "they" think have earned a January Camp call-up. As for me the following are the likely strikers to receive the call for Camp Cupcake.....

Dempsey, Teal Bunbury, Charlie Davies, Tesho Akindele, Gyasi Zardes,

Dempsey for leadership....Bunbury, Zardes, Akindele to see if they'll be able to contribute at the International Level....Davies to see if he can play the super-sub role.

Otherwise there aren't many options for domestic league strikers. Agudelo needs to a club before he should be considered for the US Team.

I wish more players would have more swag/confidence. The USMNT has way to many vanilla personalities.

Vanilla ice had swag. I think there's room for big heads but less room for lofty wage demands when you can't land a club. I'm sure there's more to the story than that, but you can't afford to have a huge head when you aren't playing professional football.

Can a Louisiana Kid not get a call up? Patrick Mullins can impact any game he enters into. We saw this in the MLS final but what sticks with me from this past season was the left footed blast he hit on Toronto and Cesar from about 25 out in the upper left corner.

I am a big patrick mullins fan I dont think he should be called up yet. But I think if he can force his way into the lineup which might be possible depending on the formation used then can get a starting role. He has shown well as a super sub lets see if he can make that jump to the starting lineup and then work from there.

Patrick Mullins? That's a joke right? Definitely not USMNT material at all. The times I saw him he was nothing but a drag on new England's offense, the odd man out, the guy who was there but shouldn't have been, the square peg in the round hole of Rev attacking greatness.

What? Come on dude he isn't that bad! Sure I don't think he deserves a call up right now, but at one part during the season he was playing very very well and was on the shortlist for ROY contention. Oh, and he played pretty well in the MLS final where he made an instant impact when subbed in.

I wasn't saying he'd step in and unseat Jozy (someone needs to be pressuring him though). Camp cupcake is where some of these kids are given a shot, and some might just wiggle their way into a Jordan Morris like callup. Im tired of it being where 32 year old has-beens are given a moment of glory. ie Brad Evans, Brad Davis, Wondo

As far as the game you watched him in, hamsamwich, was it in their mid season debacle where Nguyen was sitting too far back because he couldn't get service before Jones got there? Which left nguyen disconnected from his #9?

I'd say it was apparent when Davies became the starter that New England became he real thing.

What's the difference between him and a will bruin for example? He's like Robbie Rogers, all of a sudden he's a part of a really good team and people start getting crazy. From their team last year if rather have Davies, bunbury Rowe Nguyen Tierney Farrell jones before I looked at Mullins for any credit. Sorry to sound harsh but the USMNT is for world class players.

It's not like I plug Harry shipp, who isn't good enough either, which I would do if I was a homer. Mullins just isn't what we need. There are ten guys id rather see starting with Zardes, everyone's favorite new toy, who I am skeptical of as well but at least deserves the chance. He's dynamic whereas Mullins isn't.

That's a fair argument, I just believe we're all tired of seeing the same players called in. To take it back to Juan, the kid needs to put into check and be forced to find any club to regain his form ( not targeted at you hamsamwich). At this point he is not a world class player either, though most mlsers aren't.
I do have one challenge for you, name me a world class player who has been called into camp cupcake for a first opportunity?

No, New England became a real thing when they got Jermaine Jones, period! Right now I don't see a lot of difference between Bruin and Mullins except he has a sweeter left foot and is a bit quicker. However, Mullins is 3 years younger and straight out of college. Who knows where he'll be in 3 years. He could tail off like Bruin has OR he could begin to knock in goals left and right. I've already said that I'm not calling for Mullins now, however I'm not completely writing him off only after his first season as you seem to be doing. I think he can do good things and learn alot at NYCFC with Kreis, especially having Lampard and Villa in the attack.

I'm very skeptical of Zardes as well, he looks too much like EJ and Altidore and not enough like Dempsey for me to get too excited about him.
