Lots of potential storylines to this match.

Will be interested to see how many minutes JA, Clint, and AJ play, and what they do with their time, individually and collectively.

Good opportunity for Williams to demonstrate whether he can really play the six for US. Mix should also get some minutes there, and/or as the eight. Let's see what JJ adds to the equation.

Hope to see Brooks and Packwood play significant minutes. Could be a last opportunity for Gooch to make whatever case he may be capable of making.

Spector's versatility and experience could come into play as a sub.

Was Lichaj not included because of lack of playing time due to injury, or lack of form?

Ukrainian players will undoubtedly be fired up and looking to make footballing and political statements given recent political events in their country, as well as the fact that they really scuffed and booted a supreme opportunity to go to Brazil, and knock France out of Brazil.

Although it is a 'friendly', the domestic political unrest in Ukraine is likely to make the national team and tomorrow's match a strong rallying point for their country.

So who has the most to gain from tomorrow?

1) Shea - I think JK wants to take him to Brazil he just needs a reason to do so.
2) Sacha - He's on the inside for now but is facing competition for that CM spot
3) Williams - The opposite of Sacha, he may be the man to steal Sacha's spot in Brazil
4) Onyewu - If he's decent I think JK would like to bring a savvy veteran like him to Brazil
5) Brooks - He really needs to start getting some PT in Hertha
6) Boyd - Needs to prove his worth
7) Jozy - Needs a confidence boost to keep his starting spot
8) Aron - Could steal jozy's staring spot
9) Dempsey - see jozy comment
10) Castillo - I thought he was out of the picture this could be a big rebound for him
11) Packwood - A long shot but its nice to get another young yank in the mix

I think Aron has the most to gain. If Altidore doesn't play well and Aron does then you would have to say that Aron has the most to gain.

Looking forward to hopefully a good game.

For right now I hope Shea is restricted to that impact sub role. That's more than likely his role at the WC if taken. So he might as well get into that muscle memory of coming out of the gates for 10, 15, or 20 minutes to provide that offensive spark.

I think Aron has a lot to gain but I think Williams may have the most. Our striker role is deep and there is no way Aron doesn't make the plane unless a serious injury occurs. Jones is on the decline and we NEED someone who can partner well with Bradley. A good showing by Williams could put him in a great and serious conversation that Klinnsman would be having with his staff.

Like everyone else I'm hoping to see Packwood, Brooks, Agudelo, Williams, and the other younger guys play but I think the most important part of this game is Jozy. He needs to get firing. He needs to prove to Payet he should be Sunderlands #1 striker and knock a few in, or at the very least, play well. Otherwise we'll have a cold striker heading to Brazil.

I think Williams has the most to gain, definitely at DM. Maybe even in a role similar to Cameron in that he might have the versatility to cover multiple positions...maybe even flank fullback.

Feeling a little creative with the line up 4-2-3-1

..........Jozy......
AJ.......Deuce.......FJ
......JJ....Williams
Specs...JAB...Cam....Morales

I like the front six but the outside fullbacks are a bit of a stretch, but I can't believe Castillo will start at LB and JK views FJ as a mid.

I think Brooks has the most to gain. He has the talent to start in Brazil over OG or Besler. its just a matter of time of getting his job back at Berlin and showing to the coaches he can compete at the international level. I dont think OG and Bes are lock starters by any means and Brooks has a chance to start in 4 world cups if he takes the job now.

Specially, Brooks over OG... anything to avoid OGs one or two blunders per game.

for me its the "challengers" at CM and the central attacking positions:

- williams (kljestan)
- AJ (agudelo, boyd)

jones, dempsey and altidore all struggling a bit for form. maybe a big statement from one of the above makes JK start to rethink his "spine"

This is the exact front 6 I want to see. AJ needs to be in the game somewhere and honestly he needs to be put at one of those "wing" positions on either side to see what happens, Jozy needs to play at least 60 minutes. I reallllllly hope he scores or assists. You know what you get from Bedoya and Shea on the wing.

If it was me I'd start those 6
Kleijstan for JJ at half
Boyd for Jozy at 60' (I wouldn't be surprised if Aguedelo doesn't play he's only recently seen minutes but then again there's the Brek Shea factor)
Bedoya for whoever the outside back is at the time and move Fab back to LB or RB
Dempsey will play 90'
Shea for AJ at 75'

My starters tonight...

Jozy --- Iceman

FJ --- Clint --- Bedoya

Jones --- Klijestan

Castillo - Brooks - Gooch - Cameron

------Howard / Guzan ------

I'm sure Howard will start but him and Guzan are equal in my eyes.

Subs: Williams for Klijestan or Jones depending on 1 st half proformance
Boyd for Jozy
Agudelo for AJ
Shea in for Castillo and FJ drops back to LB

I would go for that but I want to see a Johannsson/Boyd pairing
