He's played it before and done alright. His left foot isn't as good as Fabian's but he can cut in and take shots on goal. Plus his defensive work is better.

I'm OK with playing Beasley. It just means that one of the MF/attackers I like more has to come off the bench. Bedoya, Zusi, Dempsey, Johannsson, Donovan, Altidore and F. Johnson are 7 players for the remaining 4 spots.

I need to stop thinking about this since it would be really good luck if everyone is healthy and the squad will be rotated anyways.

And then ration that 31 out to 12 games and apply it to their 3 goals: 1.2 goals

At this moment Donovan #10, Howard captain, Deuce warming the bench. If he doesn't improve soon this could happen!

I don't see it happening. Deuce will more than likely start underneath the striker. Donovan will be played out wide left.

Neither. IMHO, both are better playing on the wings. Neither is a #10. Dempsey still appears to lack match fitness. Donavan has lost a step and still has that annoying ability to disappear if someone bumps him. I think relying on these two will not get us out of group in Brazil. Don't ask me who will because I can't name them and don't think we have anyone to do so. MB & JJ will keep us in matches but with Jozy up top and aforementioned two on the pitch, I think the US is in trouble. Donavan can (will he?) rise to the occasion but after watching Deuce at Fulham and with Seattle, he seems to have lost his fight. Sorry, just my opinion.

IMO Clint can't be considered a wide player at this point. Landon can play either position but given that we need help out wide it's a no brainer

None of Zusi, Donovan, Dempsey, Bedoya, or Fabian Johnson almost ever run the line to put in a cross. If we had just one player who could do that effectively more than 1-2 times a game, we would be a radically different threat.

Are you for real? I haven't watched the last couple games. Put I've seen Johnson and especially Zusi put in some fantastic crosses. Multiple times in different games.

You mean Zusi mostly. And I meant that as an average of 2012-2014. Very few crosses, some games, especially when Zusi is not there, it is less than 2 per wide midfielder. Forget the numbers, I mean in general more crosses, we are a different team.

10s dont have to play under the striker. Zusi at SKC is given free reign to roam.

Duece is most effective under the striker. Donovan can do damage anywhere. Plus he can cross in a good ball.

I don't know the numbers eaxactly but I agree that we need more wide play no doubt. Out wide to cross it in.

Thats why so many of us were excited about Gatt and Gyau (initially). Thought it might be a surge in wingers. Now none except Shea (classical winger).

Let's hope Green will be added to the pool.
