David stern won't let the wnba fold. It loses millions every year. Stern is a arrogant prick and doesn't ever want to admit he made a mistake.

i thought the usmnt always tied there games in with mls's tv contract to help mls tv revenue ?

Yep. There is no negotiating for USMNT TV rights because the USSF knows it is better for American soccer if they work in concert as opposed to competing against each other.

Stern's reign is over. The Adam Silver era begins February 1st.

What is going on with the MLS TV rights this season? NBC Sports hasn't had a game the past two weekends and at least here locally Comcast Sports Net hasn't had any DC United games this season (I guess they must have lost the rights?). The quality of the league is at an all time high but if the only national TV coverage is the Sunday game on Unimas the league is hardly going to win over casual fans.

They have a SKC-Columbus game next Sunday on NBCSN. The NHL playoffs just started so they're airing all of those games.

Once they start dwindling down to East and West finals, we'll prob see a MLS game ever Saturday/Sunday. The Stanley Cup is on NBC.

I would understand if NBCSN was showing the NHL playoffs over the MLS game of the week but today they were showing Track & Field and then a car auction in that 4:00-6:00pm slot. I think last week they were also airing Track & Field in that time slot.

Less of fan of ESPN who doesn't start showing MLS games until the end of May.

I think MLS would be better served by being on NBC and FOX IMO.

One day MLS will have games on FOX, NBC, CBS and ESPN. Might not be for another 20 years, but that day will come.

The SJ earthquakes got pushed to the 3rd local CSN channel and when I tuned in it was playing a "replay" minor league baseball game....

What about F1 on NBCSN? Been seeing that recently and I gotta admit that it's filled a hole in my motorsport quota.

Agreed about the track and field thing...if it were an Olympic year and these were the US trials then maybe, but otherwise that's gotta be a pretty small market...

The track meet is a big meet every year. It's USA vs. the World meet that's why it was on. mlssoccer.com has the tv schedule!

I didn't bother actually watching it for more than a few seconds, but isn't that something that should be on ESPN News or something? Fans will know where to find it, no need to throw off my viewing schedule...

I'm sure track fans would say same thing if reversed! But I would have thought the track would be on Universal Sports, isn't that an NBC owned also? that's usually where track, biking, triathlons and so on are.

I'm sure that you've got a point, though I could counter by saying that while in the states the two markets could be comparable, F1 is huge in the rest of the world compared to here.

Either way, I agree...seems like most of the more esoteric sports stuff has been on Universal and it was weird to see it cross over.
