Uhm, everyone assumes there is going to be problems in the locker room when Chandler comes back. As fans we have no idea how the players feel, or if Chandler has already explained himself to some U.S. teammates. Obviously he has explained himself to the coach, and really thats all that matters.

I don't feel slighted at all. He is a young player that never grew up in the states. Maybe he really needed to sit down, and think about this hard before coming to a decision of representing the U.S. I can't hate on that at all, and he immediatley upgrades RB, because Dolo was clearly struggling this past outing with the USMNT.

having timmy chandler back doesnt get me all hot and bothered. he brings the ability to play out of the back that klinsmann longs for. a potential backline of chandler, cameron, ream and johnson in 2014 is pretty sexy in terms of heading upfield.

A backline with Ream makes me nervous. I think the 2014 two CBs will be completely up in the air, but I don't see Ream being our guy. Plus, if there is a god, Fabian will finally get to midfield and Lichaj can play LB. THAT is Sexy.

I just don't see why fans want to move Johnson to midfield. He doesn't play midfield for Hoffenheim. He is going to continue playing LB for his Club. Lichaj will probably be a Chandler's back-up at RB with Morrow from San Jose being Johnson's back-up.

Hopefully we will see this against Mexico!

-------Howard------
Chandler--Cam----Boca---Johnson
-----Bradley---Jones----
-------Dempsey-----
Donovan----Gomez-----Pontius

Subs: Defense: Dolo, Lichaj, Gonzo, Middies: Torres, Ngyuen, Williams, FWD: Gatt, Boyd
GK: Guzan.
With Chandler and Johnson rampaging on the sidelines will be awesome to see.

an end of season poll conducted amongst bundesliga managers put johnson as the #1 LB in germany...i see brek shea being in klinsys picture before lichaj, not due to merit, but just due to the fact that lichaj is yet to recieve a whif whereas breks a jurgen favorite

id like to see sacha get a look over danny williams. hes been playing too well to not be considered in the buildup to the meat of WCQ...i think omars still a few months removed, think january, its better klinsy gets a good look and i think jurgen is set on goodson at CB. i dont think we'll see gatt before january either, especially given he's injured. Nguyens intriguing but i'm not sold hes a better option than robbie rogers

Actually, he does play midfield for his club. He saw time in D last season due to injuries in the squad - just like Danny Williams did. His preferred position is midfield.

Although Shea has played time on D I don't think its a great idea.

Johnson is a very good left back but he is a great midfielder. That is his natural position.

Do you realize that he was playing in the midfield until the winter break last season? Do you also realize that when he was playing left midfield, he was second in the Bundesliga in assists?

A guy with that kind of ability needs to be in the midfield. Lichaj is a good left back

I'm also for Johnson being used in the midfield, even though he is a viable LB option. I'd like to see Lichaj get some time with the national team again at lb.

Williams > Sacha. Jurgen doesn't rate Sacha that much and has him way down the depth chart, also there is a new coach at Anderlecht and looks like he wont be a starter so that lowers his stock even more.

I agree with most of you guys that Klinsmann should move Johnson to midfield, I bet he may do that against Mexico and start Chandler at LB. But I think playing Chandler at LB is a waste of his talents I would rather see Lichaj at LB with Chandler replacing Cherundolo at RB.

Here is more proof in this article that Chandler is more than likely to play in the September WCQs. Also I don't know why YA is taking shots at Chandler by putting Timmy Who? in the new poll and removing him in the players list.

To be fair, the article doesn't have any quote from Chandler about playing for the US in September - it looks like speculation from the author.

Still, I'm confident he's going to play for the US eventually, if for any reason, because he's simply not good enough for any kind of regular role with Germany. My impression is that he's just not as much into international play as he is into club play - putting on the Nürnberg shirt is his career, putting on the USA jersey is secondary. Flying overseas to play Scotland's b-team or Antigua & Barbuda isn't going to be a huge draw to somebody who's not entirely into it, especially if they are carrying minor injuries (his/Nürnberg's constant story).

Hopefully this is all put to rest in Azteca in a couple weeks.
