I don't think they play the most attractive football as a whole but its getting much better with foreign managers coming in. I think it is the best and most competitive. Also, I never said it's the be all end all, I just meant it as it's employed the most Americans over the years

Usa will never do nothing internationally until they have players playing in other leagues other than the epl. Germany, spain, italy. No team has ever won a WC with more than 2 players in their starting 11 from the epl. 2010 spain 0 i believe, 2006 italy 0, 2002 brazil 0, 1998 france 1 i think. 1994 brazil 0, 1990 germany 0, 1986 argentina 0, ect ect.. Only when fifa gave england the wc, which was at their country and robbed germany. You see the trend. Thats why england will nevwr get close to winning a wc in the next 100 yrs until they have players playing in other leagues.

Most likely me. It's unlikely that all will. I don't get all the anti-EPL posters on here, the league has been the best for Americans out of the big leagues.

It was definitely you. Ha. But I'm not an EPL hater. Just bad matchups for them this year. It's unquestionably the most competitive league top to bottom in the world. But the top tier teams don't equal Spain/Germany/Italy's
If you don't love it, leave it, USA #1

Without a doubt the top tier teams are better than Italy's. There is really only two teams that are better than top tier EPL clubs and that's Barca and Bayern. I want the EPL to do well, as that's my league but I liked the matchups as it's good football. It's definitely the most competitive. La Liga typically (outside of this year) is Barca and Real then a big gap, same with Bundesliga to a lesser extent with Bayern and Dortmund though it's usually Bayern then a big drop. EPL usually have the top 4 sides within 10 pts or less, look at this year, the top 5 are separated by 10pts and the top 4 are separated by 4 pts.

Say what you want about the level of play in the EPL, but no other league is as exciting. Bayern had the Bundesliga wrapped up in September, Roma is challenging Juve but won't win the league, and Spain is a 3-team race (FINALLY) instead of a two-team race.

In the EPL, there are 4 teams within 4 points of each other at the top. Then the battle for the Europa spot is tight between 3 clubs. And then there are 10 points separating the 10th placed team and the 20th placed team. THAT'S EXCITING. Not to mention Man Shitty's last-minute win of the league a couple years back was one of the most thrilling moments of sport I've ever seen.

Gimme that any day of the week over Bayern beating up on all the competition or the Barca/Madrid monopoly in Spain.

Say whay you want about EPL but at least they have the stones to not let two teams dictate the rules like Spain and Portugal. I cant belive the other teams are ok with 1-2 teams getting special treatment. Its a joke

The Bundesliga used to be much more competitive.

EPL is fairly competitive at the top with 4 or 5 teams.

Most competitive soccer league in the world is MLS. Read and comprehend that statement before going off about how it's not the best league in which I never said it was.

Only three teams were clearly out of the playoffs by October in 2013.

If the BPL had the same playoff structure as MLS, it would be just as tight.

This is the UCL, this isnt leagues playing leagues, this is teams playing teams.

Lets try and get back to the topic at hand.

I am a United fan. Yesterday was easily one of the worst performances I've ever seen, top to bottom. Moyes' substitutions seem to be criticized often, but they're being questioned before they're even made. Smalling was having a laugher out there, so he should of came off, and Valencia should of been moved back to RB.

It just doesnt seem like the players believe in Moyes yet. United's roster isnt stacked by any means, so this wasnt going to be an easy job for Moyes from the start. This also shows you how incredible SAF was with basically the same roster last year, the same team that ran away with the domestic title and got jobbed in their UCL knockout clash with Real Madrid.

Are there any dedicated fans of any of the teams left in this contest?

I do not have a dog in the fight, BUT i will say some of these arguments against teams from EPL are ridiculous.

First of all, only a fool thought that Arsenal would or could beat Munich, and I think most reasonable people thought Barca would take it to Man City. Also, Man U is crap this season so for them to lose at Olimpiacos wasnt a huge surprise to those in the know. Matchups are huge in soccer, and those did not favor them at all. Should be a tough game in Galatasaray today as well, road games are never easy.

Second, England teams have won 3 out of last 10 Champions league titles, while being the losing team at least 5 times I can think of in that span as well.

Personally I prefer to watch German soccer, as I think it is the right mix of aggression, tactics, and technical play. Overblown arguments about strength of whole leagues based off of individual games is not the way, it's more about which style of play you like to watch.

Dont forget Chelsea just beat Munich in the final two years ago, thats like saying Spain has fallen off because its been three years since they won a Champions League. If that's true, Italy must be garbage then.

MLS is definitely the most competitive league because of the salary cap structure.
My only problem with the EPL is that its so hyped by the English media and fans. Every league has the're good and bad qualities about them. But for fans to say EPL is better league is just plain ignorant. EPL is straight forward football, then you have la liga with the amount of flair and what sometimes is seemed as the best in the beautiful game. "tiki taka" But regardless everyone gets a variety of league to look at.
Find it frustrating as well that American always choose EPL when it might not even fit them. Bradley could have been in CL next year and he played in Roma but if he was in the EPL he would have prob never have been that close to the UCL so EPL grabs that attention as well. Hope americans spread out more this coming generation.

if all goes well and in the right path Madrid, and Munich will be in the final. I think galatasaray can win at Chelsea, they dominated today. Wouldn't be surprised if they go pks. Bayern and Madrid Are the top 2 teams in the world right now.
