I love the analysts talking about Pep being out of a job after this season. Yes, Bayern were arguably favorites to win the UCL, but they still have the possibility of doing the double this season. Bayern's front office would be out of their minds to let him go.

Two things I learned that relate to Group G.

1) CR7 might just tear us to shreds.
2) Pepe is still a world-class center back. He proved it over both legs. We will struggle to break that back line.

True Ronaldo could possibly rip us apart, but he is going to be physically and mentally drained going into the WC. Also the USMNT has a pit bull CM named Jermaine Jones. Ronaldo is known to get put off his game when opposing players are physical. I could see Jermaine Jones putting Ronaldo off his game.

Let's also not forget that Israel successfully shut down Ronaldo in both qualifying games. The USMNT is a much better team than Israel.

Let's also remember that they're playing in Manaus in the middle of the Amazon with 90+% humidity and temps in the mid 80's. If there is one thing I know about the USMNT is that they adapt pretty well to environmental conditions whereas most European countries don't.

Should be a fun game to watch.

I dont think itd be wise but being a manager in this game is so fickle. One bad result and you could be gone.

Although firing Pep would be dumb.

Real Madrid has 2 Portuguese in their Backline i Believe, Pepe, Contreao. They are Very Very good i think Usa has to play counter vs Portugal and Cristiano is Pretty much scientifically impossible to stop him not even the top 4 defenders in the world can stop him, But he can be slowed down. Germany i Believe we can do a Number on them on Set pieces they might be weak this year in that category. Ghana we know what we have to do Period.
But Madrid just took it to Munich and took advantage of their Chances. And Im not sure if guardiola will return.

It's how they are winning......you can read up on former players calling it boring and such. It goes a long way into the culture of the club.

Hmmm...I wouldn't consider this one a blowout. Convincing win by Atleti, yes. Blowout, no. Yesterday was a blowout. At no point did Bayern look like they even had a sniff. Chelsea did today. Don't let your anti-English, pro-German bias get in the way of intelligence. It's hard, I know.

I think Madrid being without Xabi Alonso is going to be one of the biggest talking points. As long as Atleti can stay healthy these next few weeks, I think they edge it in Lisbon.

I Have a feeling Atletico will win the CCL. Sad thing is that Atletico is going to lose their best players.

I think if Costa goes to Chelsea, Courtois will stay in Madrid as part of the deal. Also, if Atleti can hold on and win La Liga, AND win the UCL...why would players like Costa want to leave?? It's not like they're playing for a club like Arsenal who can't challenge for trophies. They have the chance to do the double. Baffling to me.

One thing I will never, ever understand about athletes. It's not like they're struggling for cash. They're making millions upon millions of dollars a year.

Lot's of hanger ons, and in the event of someone with perspicacity; he/she will realize that he will be collecitng for only a few more years, afterwards he/she will go on half of life, or maybe 3/4 of it not collecting a secure dime.

Get as much as you can while you still can, and say nothing for the possibility of getting hurt the very next day.
