Draw for the knockout round is complete. Two huge matchups.
Man City vs Barca
Arsenal vs Bayern Munich.

This is the stage where teams try harder to win these games than league games as the money gets large now. Will be a good stanfing point to see where the three leagues stans as the top two EPL teams are playing the top BL and the top 1 or 2 La Liga team. Rest of the draw is pretty bland. La Liga could be in for a rude awakening as Milan could surprise Athletico (experience and starting to play together vs new up and comer) and Schalke is always a tough out as no matter how they look on paper they are always in the knockout rounds. Real has been struggling too

Milan vs Atletico is interesting. A tale of two teams going in two opposite directions with Atletico tied with Barca at the top of the La Liga table and Milan struggling hard midtable in Serie A.

Both of those matchups are awesome though.

Liverpool may be 2nd in the standings but if you asked 10 experts to name the top two EPL teams this year I bet Man City & Arsenal get the most votes. If you watch the games they are the two most talented teams. Liverpool hasnt beaten any of the top EPL teams. They've been fortunate with the scheduling gods that they've had the easiest schedule to date. Against the other EPL teams that would qualify for Europe if the season ended today, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Everton, Newcastle they picked up 2 out of a possible 9 points. They play Man City & Arsenal before the new year. On Jan 1st Id be surprised if they were still in the top 3 or 4 in the standings. Nevermind if Suarez finally leaves like he wants to

More of a joke but yeah rattle on. Two most talented squads are City and Chelsea without a doubt, Arsenal are very deep in the midfield but very very light up top and in the back. If Giroud goes down, Arsenal would be in trouble. As far as the games against the teams that would qualify....sure I would love more points but I'll take, all three were away games and the common goal is to win at home and draw away. Just wait till Sturridge gets back. As far as the schedule goes...what does it matter whether we play the top teams in the beginning or the end, you still have to play them. Also, we have to play City and Chelsea after just curbstomping Tottenham. Be prepared to be surprised. Also Suarez isn't going anywhere till summer, when Liverpool finishes top 4, he stays.

I think the final will be bayern vs Madrid. With Munich being champs again. Unless they meet each other earlier. I think Dortmund has a good chance of naking the final again.

Alright time for predictions

Leverkusen vs PSG-too much firepower for PSG, Ibra on top of his game, Cavani is hurt. I like Leverkusen but not this season.

PSG advances

City vs Barca-this interesting because the midfield are areas of strength where the defenses are not. City can beat Barca. They have the wing play and forwards to beat Barca's defense down. Messi is rounding back into form. Fabregas has been exceptional.

City advances in a upset

Milan vs Atletico Madrid-Balo has to be the best in this matchup. Nothing else matters. But Atletico advances. Milan just arent a UCL worthy team right now.

Atletico advances

Arsenal-Bayern-This has upset potential. Arsenal can beat this team. They almost came back after getting blown out in the first leg last year. But Bayern are on another level that IDK if anyone can stop. It's almost unfair how they're dismantling teams right now.

Bayern advances

Any predictions?Agree or disagree?

City without Fernandinho and Aguero are a totally different side. Thankfully for them they get Fernandinho back. He will make a huge difference, and hopefully they pull out the win.

Arsenal doesn't stand a chance, they aren't the same squad as the first half of the season in the EPL.

Not really. On Jan 1st they were out of top 4. Then they had there easy part of the schedule while Everton and Spurs do not. I'll stick with my same thought process as before. Come April 1st ish they will be back down to 5th. Liverpool has made great strides and I love Rodgers as a coach. I love how he's not afraid to throw young talented players into the fire instead of "making them earn it" I just dont think they have the horses to stay there. If Suarez and/or Sturridge ever hit a little drop in form or pick up a slight knock they wont be able to stay up there. I'll stick with Europa League berth for them and fighting for 1-2 next year. They are definitely on the upswing I just think next year is there year.
