I think it's safe to say at this moment leaving mls was the wrong decision. Playing in 4th division England isn't good for a guy with national team aspirations.

This has to be a blow to his ego. The English 4th division is basically a step back. He was previously seen as a rising star within the US system as either a CB or a CM. Looking at it now he's obviously stagnated and others in his age bracket are moving forward & upward...

CB - Brooks, Miazga, CCV, Alvarado, EPB, Parker
CM - Trapp, Stanko, Canouse, Zelalem, Senora

Its not that he won't have a chance sometime in the future, but he's going to have a bit more difficulty getting back into contention.
