Huge move for Orlando City. He's clearly still a top player and although he is no longer world class he will instantly become one of MLS's best and most marketable. Hopfully he can spread the word and get some younger Brazilians to look here before going to Portugal/Spain

Somebody needs to get Pato here!

Like I said a million times, with all the available players after the World Cup, MLS needs to raise the DP limit to 4

Tim Cahill is in talks with Sydney FC. Looks like the Redbulls will have a DP spot open after the MLS season ends.

I'm not opposed to such a move but would have to see some sort of incentive not to use it. Like if you don't use your 4th DP slot you get two regular international slots, or something of that nature. Otherwise the teams that aren't flush with cash are going to be disproportionately disadvantaged.

Id like to see it kind of like basketball. Say they have 4 DP spots but 2 of them are for resigning their own players only. That way if your a team like Seattle you can overpay a guy lke Yedlin to prevent him from going to europe. Or if it was like 2 DPs are for guys who have repped the USMNT and 2 are for any player. Something like that

I would really like to see an MLS team go after Bryan Ruiz.

I agree that they should increase Dp's to 4.

I think Ruiz is turning heads with Costa Rica's success. He's already a somewhat known commodity and on $1.7m a year. It would be tough to compete for him. He turns 29 in a few months, I could see him cashing in on one more big contract in Europe and joining the MLS in 2 years.

Not much meat here, or any...but it's something, and could just be a ploy to try and get any would-be English suitors to make a move sooner than later.

Still, 2015 is shaping up to be the most exciting MLS season ever.

Robinho to MLS? Looks like it's on it's way to happening. First heard about it from SBI in reference to joining Kaka at OSC, but this article says it's a four team bidding war, but they only mention 3 teams (OSC, NE and CHI).

The Robinho talks are getting serious. Plus it seems like Milan don't really want him.

I would love for him to come to New England.

1) he could be the missing piece to a championship team
2) holy shit we would be the most exciting thing since the twellman/dempsey era....

I hope the NY red bulls go after Jermaine Jones or Drogba.

I'm surprised they've stayed with 2 dp's for the last 2 years.

Hopefully they will sell Tim Cahill and bring in two new DP's

Well, I hope Ashley Cole never comes to the MLS. The MLS really needs to stop going after these players that think the league is a joke. I have no problems with him choosing Roma over the MLS but comments like these are unforgivable to me.

"I had offers from the USA, but I'm not ready to relax on a beach yet," the former England international told reporters at Rome's Fiumicino airport. "I've won a lot in my career already, but I don't want to stop.
