In other words in reference to U-20 players for the USA, The best league for them to go and learn and actually PLAY is Eredivisie.

I would agree with that. La Liga is a bit too competitive...I don't know how many players we could send there at any age. Ligue 1 is also a good choice. I don't understand why the people advising these kids don't understand this. It should be obvious to anyone following the game that The Eredevisie and Ligue 1 are much better options for a young American than the EPL. I think it's because soccer literacy in the US is extremely low, and even a lot of players and coaches don't "get it" (and that includes Michael Bradley's comments). Not their fault, back in the 90's the sport (and the internet and satellite TV) was in its infancy. Hopefully things will start to change with this generation.

But I would like to see us have a few players that can play like a Spaniard.

Orlando City has made a major bid for Sao Paulo's Ganso. That would be an interesting signing.

Maybe I am biased because they are my two of my four favorite Brazilians of all time but I wish an MLS team could have signed Robinho and Ronaldinho instead of them going to China. I don't care how old Ronaldinho is, he is welcome in MLS as long as he can bend a nice free kick in.

Very interesting indeed. Only a few years ago he was supposed to be the next big thing. He turned out to be a bust but he is a talented player in his prime and has the skill and creativity that is lacking in American players. This is the exact type of signing MLS teams should make.

They would have been great signings. Disappointing to see the ball dropped on that one.

Apparently the GDS signing is official. This year has been massive for MLS as far as DP signings go. Missing out on Xavi and Riquelme was inexcusable but they're doing their best to make up for it.

Timbers sign Lucas Melano. An up and coming Argentine FWD. They beat out Villarreal for his signature.

Yes but in No way is he worth 9m a year... Maybe 3-4M a year that's it.
come on son. This is like the 9th time MLS rules got changed to benefit the galaxy. And you whine and cry over it. Very frustrating as an MLS fan to see this crap happen year after year.

And the reason he got those minutes at 18 is because of the success that Mexican team had at youth level. We haven't had that success yet. When we do, we will have players playing for clubs like that at 18-19.

So Chicago Fire made an offer for Drogba worth 2.5M a year. Seems a bit high specially for a 37 year old. 1.5M would of been ideal. Contract would be for 18 months.

Maybe inot so much a star now, but Red Bulls are signing BWP's more illustrious brother SWP tomorrow.

This NYCFC team looks really good, and they still have Lampard who has yet to play.

Damn right they do man!! Just excited to see Lampard as well on this team, the dude is going to help this team a lot as well.

Just wonder how Kries is feeling when he initially wanted to bring a youngster in instead of Pirlo, you know he's going to be loving the fact now that we are going to have a pretty intense attack. Also, Iroala and the youngster played pretty good too!

I loved watching Pirlo just dropping it right on top of guys any place on the field. They have a wealth of riches on the attack, but a flat out tragic crap back line. Kries had a valid concern wanting to use the DP for a quality CB. With any D at all they would be very tough to beat. In hindsight, they don't really need Lampard if they have Pirlo distributing and Villa finishing up top...they really need a couple CBs.

Impact are close to signing Drovba after a deal with the Fire who had a discovery claim on him.

Say what now? How can MLS teams put discovery claims on internationally renowned veterans? Who has a discovery claim on Messi?

I understand discovery claims on 15 year olds not on 37 year old world cup and premier league vets.

Ham's not going to like that...Chicago could have really used him. The forwards they brought in are poor...no chemistry at all...
