Potential US U-17 player Christian Albelo has left Hoffenheim and signed a contract with Kaiserslautern. He is a very promising CM who also has ties to Colombia due to his father.

Colombia has identified Albelo as a top prospect for their program, and intends to push hard to snag him away from the US.

He has seen time with US youth teams, but Richie Williams has only called him in minimally for this new cycle of U-17's.

I don't know how well he stacks up to the other CM's for the U-17's, but what I do know is that Albelo along with Cash Williams seem to be two of the top rated CM's for this cycle. Don't think the US can afford to let Colombia convince Albelo to leave the US set-up.

Read this in the paper this morning. I live 30 minutes from where Kaiserslautern plays and trains. Remember Andrew Wooten plays there and it has a big military community there. Also in the youth system many americans play there not any as good as he is but I think as long as the us keeps calling him up and with wooten. Plus he could break FCK lineup possible in a year their cms are nothing special.

Looks to be at FSV Frankfurt now in the 2. Bundesliga.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
